Doing me Sunday Lunch, here in Essex England!

 

last night was kind of meh. the friends i was with are the kind of people that think a fun night has to be based around consuming as much alcohol as possible, and they like to insist that i keep up with them. which is fun sometimes, but now i'm not so happy.

 

hon, it does'nt always play to keep up with ...................but always enjoying, you look cool.

 

Yea got wasted Saturday threw up sunday and yea I am very cool maybe we can all be friends. I'm gonna be in chat the rest of today. Come chill and talk to me

well i don't know what everyone else is doing, but i'm sitting here in front of this computer and thinking how the chair i'm sitting on needs a cushion.

there's a (slightly more) comfy chair on the other side of the room, that's difficult to move, and i'm thinking i should go sit in it and read a book.

 

I find that actually interesting, Mr. Manx. The chair I sit in that is my computer and "my area" chair needs to be replaced. The cats have clawed up and messed up the left side arm area so bad that I've duct taped it about 100 times. I laughed with my son how those cats must have ripped and torn up about 1000 layers, at least. They get stuck every rare now and then...but they don't let that stop them.

oh now. I want to replace this chair.

But they need to have this place to walk around and scratch. lol

its awful.

i can't do with an uncomfortable computer chair. if i'm at home, that's pretty much where i'm sitting. i have an amazingly comfortable couch, but i mostly only use it if i'm playing video games, or on the rare occasions i have company.

luckily computer chairs are relatively inexpensive, as far as furniture goes. so they just get replaced every few years when they wear out.

 

i'm in the middle of one of those pathfinder things.
finished a xanth book
and have yet to start the myth i.n.c. series book i got at that same time.
all at like super discounted prices.

none are my favorites of either series, but, these are like brand new hard covers that are almost twenty bux at barnie's snowballs and i found them at this little mom and pop hippie bookstore for between three and five bux each.

 

cats being cats, i don't suppose they could be pur sued ed to scratch on something else.

They even have a store-bought scratching pad thing that sits in a leaning box...so it is purrfectly angled for them to be able to sit steady on the floor and lean up and really get into scratching it up...

Neither one of the chair-arm-scratchers can be bothered with the nice catnip-scented scratch pad. smh

not sure if you do it or if it works for you but when my cat scratches the furniture i pick her up bring her over to the scratch post and take her paws and make her scratch the post a few times, i do it every single time she scratches the furniture and it is a noticeable difference, the furniture gets scratched less and less.

 

oh and to answer you ogdiva, everyone is reading this thread...of course not everyone but everyone that can "hear you"

 

Pens, that is a good idea...so good that I tried that a number of times after and during the time these 2 had scratched about 100 layers of duct tape down to the chair.

Brownie, who is a chunky boy with this little bitty pitiful teeeeny meow meow would act like I was doing the worst and strangest thing in the WORLD to him! By the time I would have his thick "arms" on the scratching pad, he was such a wreck it was unreal. Also, that reminds me that is probably the only time in my life I've thought his misery was funny.

Then BB, who is just a little thing but as mean as any of these snakes around here, would allow me to lift her off of the chair without too much resistance and scratching of my arm...and she would even cooperate for the few minutes I had my hands on her "arms" on the scratching pad. Then when I let her go, she would run around and wait for me to leave the whole area...and then dash back to the chair. smh

So...if I get another chair (I will), I'm going to have to figure where to set this one up for their scratching....that is my "grand idea" - to come up with a place for this chair, and its going to be a harder thing to figure out that you can imagine. Mostly that is because they aren't allowed totally free reign throughout all the house. Certain rooms are closed off to them.


edit: now the chair has held the 1000 layers...just to be clear about this time frame. lol They have been at work on this chair for a while now. lol
