My son called after the first half and said Atlanta was going to lose. His theory is that the game was not only rigged, but choreographed in great detail. The Falcons players would naturally be the last to know, but they likely knew before the coin toss. Since they're all hired stooges, there's nothing they could say about it. If they blabbed, they'd breach their contract and become NFL poison. Since they all like their fat paychecks, they did their job and stayed quiet. BUT, to make a statement they played their asses off in the first half. Consider how quickly they reassembled the line after each play. New England seemed rather put out by how quickly Atlanta was hitting the line, nearly huddle-free. But they of course couldn't say anything either. One thing Americans can't resist is being able to say they were there when "history was made". So naturally the NFL was there to accommodate with a well matched pair of teams and even the first overtime in Superbowl history. It was nice to have a non-political halftime show, I watch a football game to forget about all of that shit. Dragging politics into it is not entertaining. They may as well parade abused pets and starving children out on stage if they're going to do that. I'm not saying that I don't care about those issues, just that I want to have SOME escape from it when I pay to see a game. I don't go to a game for humanitarian reasons, who does? I go to get away from everything. I didn't watch any of the commercials, fuck those corporate assholes and their "profound" messages. I'd rather take a whiz and get another beer, drop into Hip Chat and maybe like some shit on foobook.
