I don't know why you are fixated on Bill Nye's degree. Are you suggesting that some type of advanced scientific degree is needed to support science?
What are you talking about with the Democrat statement? Democrats don't want people to have an education?

There are many, many types of B.S. degrees...not all of them are awarded for engineering.
There are several types of mechanical engineers. Depending on the institution and type of study, you can earn different types of Bachelor of Engineering degrees in the U.S. as noted below:
There are also Associate (2 year), Master's, and Doctoral degrees in Engineering.

Engineers may seek a license, but it's not necessary for graduation from various programs. A state licensed engineer would be a PE (professional engineer). The license is only needed in the U.S if you are offering services directly to the general public. This is where the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and Principles and Practice of Engineering test come in.

He probably patented his "water bag" magnifying glass so he could include it in his science kits without fear of it being copied by others.

Nye was the one who came up with the concept of using the solar panel calibration devices as sundials. The devices were to be used for color calibration of the cameras. Nye proposed also using them to tell time.

So what was his title at Boeing?

Puff has a problem that I'm trying to figure out.

Bill Nye holds a degree in Engineering from Cornell University. Here are the requirements for the degree: Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering B.S., Mechanical Engineering

He worked as a mechanical engineer at Boeing.
Here is a definition of a mechanical engineering from Merriam Webster:

He holds three patents ( I forgot the one for a digital abacus).
He worked with a team at the NASA and California Institute of Technology’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to design and create the MarsDial.
    Here's what it is:
But to get to the point. Puff seems to be upset because he doesn't agree with what Bill Nye says about something..maybe climate change..I don't know.
Instead of attacking what he is saying or what Puff disagrees with about what Bill Nye says, he chooses to attack Bill Nye by attacking his credentials.

This is akin to attacking Ben Franklin's theories on electricity, not on their merit, but because Ben Franklin never held an engineering or scientific degree.
He doesn't accept that Bill Nye worked as an engineer because he doesn't want to. He seems to think that a degree from Cornell is worthless and holding a job at Boeing that required mechanical work on 747's doesn't qualify anyone as a mechanical engineer.

So getting to the root of the discussion...what is it that bothers you Puff, about what Bill Nye has said?

Even if Nye is an engineer or not, I don't see how it makes his opinion on global warming any more valuable than a heart surgeon's or a landscape architect's opinion on that subject. They have science degrees too. So what?

That's my point. If there is a question about what Nye said about something, address what he said and see if it corresponds to the prevailing opinion of the majority of scientists and see if it is valid as to the latest scientific findings.

If you have a problem with the way he presents certain aspects of science don't attack him...attack what he says.

It is scientifically impossible to have XY females and XX males. When the embriotic zygote of a fetal animal starts out, it defaults to female based off of the first X chromosome that is passed down to the offspring by the mother. The sperm can carry an X or a Y chromosome as soon as it meets the egg (which always has one X chromosome). If the sperm that came in contact with the egg has a Y chromosome, the The Y chromosome turns every zygote into a male, period. When the helicase enzyme unzips the DNA coils and reads the nucleotide sequences of guanine, cytosine, thymine, and adenine of a Y chromosome, it turns ovaries into testicles, and clits into dicks. Even if the zygote had a mutation with XXY or XYY, the results will still be male. Without that Y chromosome, the fetal zygote will grow into becoming a the default gender, female.

If you wanna go into the really freaky chromosomal mutations with XXXY, XXXX, XXXX, XXYY, ETC, even your wikipedia sources say the occurances in birthrates of mutations like that are up to 1:60,000 or more. That frequency of THAT kind of birthrate is way way way too small to be normal enough to be considered a 3rd or 4th gender.

I'm not an expert...maybe you are...I'm going by the research I've done here on the net.

    Here are some sources:
    XY female condition.
    XX Males.
I don't know where you got your information.

As to my "freaky chromosomal mutations". I never said they were common. You stated that there were only two genders. I have pointed out medical conditions in which there is physical confusion as to gender. You have not specified what you consider to be gender. I have pointed out cases of xy, xx, xxy, xxyy, etc. sexual chromosomes and cases of individuals with female or male chromosomes and the opposite physical organs. Your claim was that there are no abnormalities, I think, not how many or rare the abnormalities are....so who cares about the frequency?
I also notice you haven't commented on Hermaphrodites.

So let's assume Bilk Nye never finished high school and is nothing more than an actor. Does that make his science messages any less valued?
If he is presenting solid scientific techniques, theories, and procedures in an entertaining way...so what?

Many people had no problem electing an actor as president of the United States, so what's your beef?

Is there something he is presenting as a valid scientific theory, procedure, or fact that you disagree with?

Apparently you don't agree with NASA.
I don't think climate change deniers should be put in jail...they're just idiots.
Nye never said they should be put in jail, he said...and I quote, "We'll see." And we don't know the full context of that statement.
So your position is that those who represent, or popularize science to the public should not have personal opinions?

    Puff (morph) -

Since you didnt post sources I thought I would fact check

    * John Cook has a degree in physics and one year of post graduate studies in solar physics. Not poli sci. But his website is primarily a resource for peer reviewed climate related research so even if he didnt have a scientific background ...would it matter? You can review the research he links on his website yourself instead of taking his word for it, that's the point of the site. And your implication that because he's a professor he might be in Antifa is ridiculous.

Thats all I feel like correcting at the moment because it doesn't really matter -

I find it interesting you don't want to talk about the actual research contained within the links.

I understand that you think all governments are part of the global conspiracy.

OSS headquartered in Madrid, nonprofit, open source. Obvious conspiracy member, no facts supporting that claim needed.

WBGU - independent scientific advisory council to the German government....another link in the conspiracy. They suggested that private pension funds invest in "green technologies".
    Sounds like a god idea.

UCS headquartered in the U.S. Nonprofit. Founded at MIT....radical left wing technical school dedicated to global dominance.
Attacked by groups such as Activistfacts, a lobbyist group for the fast food, meat, alcohol, and tobacco industry.

You skipped NOAA...oh right government agency=conspiracy.
    ANTIFA? Perhaps? Maybe? Could Be?
Who funded, who paid, biased, social scientist, bullshit books, cooks up schemes and rants......

A very organized rebuttal of the information presented, I must say.
Sorry I forgot nothing in Wikipedia is ever correct, pardon me.
And I never called you stupid by the way.
Actually seventh link. I read it.

Ron Bailey, the man in the link I provided, explains how he once thought global warming wasn't real, but now he does.

Finally, It seems you forgot to address the other links or the data in any of them.

So we have a global conspiracy headquartered in Britain, Spain, Germany, and the U.S. involved in stealing our pension funds, may be part of ANTIFA, and they brain washed a man who once called global warming not real.

    Okay.

I don't understand what he is talking about. I can't find any proof that climate change is a hoax in any link that I posted, and yes I read them all.

He seems particularly upset by the site Skeptical Science founded by John Cook. Skeptical Science counters arguments by climate change hoax advocates.
John cook has an undergraduate degree in physics from the University of Queensland and completed a post-graduate honors year studying solar physics. He was also a web and database programmer.

Gender and sex are pretty much the same thing. Gender is not a social construct. Except maybe for society saying dresses, the color pink, are feminine. But that's about as far as that gender-is-a-social-construct argument will take you.

My sources on chromosomal biology come from my biology professors and textbooks from college.

All of these irregular chromosomal genetic examples you've provided like XXY, X, XYY, XXX, and all the others with 4 or more are syndromes, not genders. Much of the time, they come with mental retardation.

I took a look at your XX males and XY females. These are probably the rarest in which the chromosomes resulted in unequal crossing over during meiosis. And the DNA doesn't get synthesized properly. They never taught us about those mutants in biology class, probably because they happen to be less than 1 out of 30,000 births where individual actually survives birth.
