like it! don't eat it often though. I need one of those rolling mats to try it at home. anyway, I "like" and like that! (ran out of likes. glen says I need to use these emojiis :wall: or :bigcry: haha!)
Lamb chops, cauliflower cheese and sweet potatoes fries. All frozen and blitzed in the oven. I had it cold because I wasn't hungry and then I was later. Grub often tastes better cold.
pork loin chops are cooking right now just pan fried plain with steak spice is how i like them...bbq is good too but i dont feel like standing outside
I made expanse's spiralized beet salad. A version of it at least. Mine had beets, zucchini and kohlrabi. My favourite is still the mango avocado noodles (sorry, Expanse!) but this was good too. I'll definitely make it again. I might make it just with the beets and zucchini next time, the kohlrabi was a bit strong raw. Broccoli probably would be too for me. I prefer those in cooked noodle dishes.
made a bowl of pad thai type rice noodles...thinner than the ones i usually buy which was good because they cook faster then i topped it off with a bunch of chopped up chicken breast pieces that were fried with some honey garlic sauce....kind of easy and plain but it was delicious
I had Pork Chops, already cooked and from the freezer; with Rice that I put fresh Onion, fresh Tomatoes, and fresh Mushrooms in. I'm getting pretty good at this rice thing.
Beet salad for lunch today. I think I may have to agree with Expanse (dangit!). The beet salad might be my favourite now. I put more apple cider vinegar on this time, I think I didn't have enough dressing on it before, and it is so good. And if you spiralize the veggies ahead of time it's so quick to make. And pâté on freshly baked seven grain seed bread with berries for dinner.
Because I had chicken and mushrooms on hand, I made Chicken Marsala in the slow cooker. I'll cook some Buttered Egg Noodles to go with it. http://www.lecremedelacrumb.com/slow-cooker-chicken-marsala/
"Manchurian Chicken" with red color. It's always better with a little color!! (well, it looks better anyway. Not too bad tho ^^) Needs green onions. That's what I forgot!
It was 36C (95F) here and I made lasagna. What's the matter with us! And the question is... is the red colour from beets or from that yucky icky blah ptoo ptoo artificial food colouring?
lol first about the weather. I swear I read 27C for yesterday here (yeah I'm the odd American who likes to keep in touch with the rest of the world and keep a Celcius thermometer. anyway) T'was 27C when I opened my device, and it then dropped to 7C when I refreshed it (It got really quickly cold overnight geez!) Anyway, uh yeah it was the "yucky" stuff haha but it makes stuff look more "authentic" or at least more spicy (it's really not too spicy )
I made some Pimento Cheese Spread this morning. The most that's getting cooked tonight will be Ramen Noodles.
Admittedly, the 36C was with the humidex. It was actually 30C, but the 36C made for a better story. :-D Either temp, it's way too hot for this time of year. Yesterday was a seasonal 16C, much better. Don't mind me, I'll always go on a tirade about artificial food colouring. It's in everything! Even hamburger buns have yellow food colouring, which is the worst one. They wonder why kids are bouncing off the walls. A lot of it is reactions to artificial food colouring. It's finally being recognized as such. And beets give a nice red colour too! Even if you don't want it. lol
I try to avoid artificial food coloring as much as possible..and HFCS. It is astounding how many prepackaged foods have HFCS in them Anywho, yesterday I made a simple pasta dish - the recipe called it rosa penne. It is basically a creamy tomato sauce made with tomatoes and spinach, garlic and red pepper flakes, with a bit of Greek yogurt to make it creamy. Served over penne. I love super simple, quick pasta dishes. If anyone has any recipes throw them my way!
My favorite poor food recipes from childhood: Tuna Noodle Casserole: 1 Bag Noodles 1 or 2 Cans Tuna Fish 1 or 2 Cans Cream of Mushroom Soup Cook noodles mix in tuna and soup after done. American Chop Suey: 1 Box of Elbow Macaroni 1 Lb Hamburger 2 Cans Tomato Soup 1 Onion (optional) 1 Green Pepper (optional) Cook the Macaroni. Pan fry Onion, Pepper, and Hamburger. Mix together with Tomato Soup. If you want you can add canned tomatoes or substitute them for soup. C/S, Rev J
