theyre alright but i like the older stuff with cast iron horizontal shaft engines and hydraulics

basically if it has multiple wheel studs like a car i will probably like it but if it has a single bolt in the center of a keyed driveshaft they are kind of disposable

I just finished watching a 2 hour documentary about the Boston Strangler and heard his voice on the tapes he made. I never knew much about him. How chilling.

i'm just not a beach person.
if i'm gonna park myself somewhere, i want to have something in front of me i can do things with.
wandering around in a forest is different. there's always new things to see.

sun sand and the smell of dead fish just don't cut it,
even with healthy young people wandering around half naked.
humans don't come in enough different shapes and colors, and patterns.

city pavement isn't really my thing either.
its just something i feel like i have to put up with,
in order to be where there's public transportation,
so i don't have to indenture myself to a car,
and not be able to afford any of the things that do interest me,
as a result of doing so.

meditating is all right, cuddling is too,
but i prefer much more varied and interesting surroundings.

i'd love to have wealth to buy tools and toys with,
but if i had to live all ostentatious in order to have it,
there's just no way that would be worth it to me either.

and the whole game of business is just a completely alien world to any i've ever known.

i grew up, my dad had a kind of business like job withing the context of infrastructure,
working as the one guy per shift in small town railroad stations,
when small towns had railroad stations,
and passenger trains stopped there, as well as freight and work trains,
and those small towns were mostly surrounded by semi-wilderness in easy walking distance.

that's what i grew up with.
    so the whole city thing
and people seeing place not as places but where people are that they know,
that's really just as totally an alien way of looking at things as the idea of business and things having to be about money.

nature isn't about people or money.
the air you breathe isn't either,
and wouldn't exist without the whole cycles of environment.

so all this stuff about cities and money and cars,
that people seem to think is so absolute and solid,
is really built on a very flimsy foundation of assumptions.

so is a beach part of nature?
well yes of course it is,
    when you're alone on it,
tens of even hundreds of miles from the nearest city,
and its foggy, and there aren't very many cars going by on the nearest road,
and you've got your jacket bundled up around you against the dam and the chill in the air.

and maybe you've got a little fire going, and you're heating up something to eat,
    that probably isn't fish.

If I come into money, I'm going to see what I can't do to put some buildings up on this plot where I live (its a corner lot with 2 acres) and have a place for animals...not like a sanctuary because that would be require acres and acres.

This time of the year, the animal shelters are literally full to the brim with cats and kittens because people in general are stupid asses and don't get their cats fixed. OR they are sorry and just put out animals - lots of dogs dumped this time of year as well as cats. Sorry ass, good for nothing POS people that take their elderly animal to a shelter because it is "too much trouble"...and I loathe people like that for what its worth.

I would want to have a place for these elderly dumped animals and a place for the cats/kitties....and I would want to be able to adopt them out. It would be quite the undertaking, I realize...but I'm getting to know some people online that are "animal people" so my thoughts and on-down-the-line goals aren't that far fetched.

Especially since the law makers don't give one single teeny damn about the animals, somebody (us citizens) needs to step up.

I've been collecting toys from my childhood since my early twenties and I'm planning on buying something else soon. Good things are happening which is a good thing and at the same time there's sadness. It's a weird kind of sadness. I'm 34 and I keep thinking of my childhood. I miss it. I miss it a lot. So much is happening and I wish time would slow down. It's going by so fast.

I know exactly what you mean. I get that feeling when I go running. You expressed the feeling so well, it is euphoric in the purest sense and it IS pure and perfect and nothng else is happening in the world right then. It's the ultimate escape. I love it.

I just yelled at little Minxy cat for the first time ever and scared her.
She opens up all of the cabinets in the kitchen....fine, I am used to her rattling pots and pans around....but this time she figured out how to open the doors of my glass curio cabinet and she got inside and almost knocked things out of there that were breakable. Luckily, I heard her, and caught the stuff and I was livid. I wanted to scare her into never doing that again.....I will have to put earthquake bonding clay between the doors of that now, so she never gets in there again.

Problem is I may never get in there ever again, either. That stuff, which is like clay, is strong.

I Put 3 Or 4 Elastic Bands Across The Door Knobs.....That Way They Can't Open The Cabinet

But They Make A Lot Of Noise As The Doors Slam Closed..... :)

    Cheers Glen.

GlenGlen, apparently, i did not scare Minxy loud enough. She was back trying to open the curio case a half hour later and I could not find the earthquake putty, so I put a rubber band on the knobs....Let's see how long before she breaks that open now. I don't want broken glass all over the floor.....for anything to get hurt on, which is why I was so upset last night.

Now, another thing that is driving me crazy....Where did I put that earthquake sheet of putty? I know I told myself last time I moved it..."Oh, here is a good place for this..."....and where is that place? I have no clue.... :D

Too many things around here to keep track of.

I mowed more today too! :D [IMG] [IMG]

I remember when I hated mowing....but I really like it a lot now. Maybe not being able to get the mower started for so long, and it not going good either (since last year it wouldn't go good at the end of the summer to where it wouldn't even crank) is what got me all hot to mow. dang if I know. lol I know I hadn't annoyed the son enough to fool with it last year...this year my annoying skills have improved a great deal. It took a while..but I'm quite convinced had I not persistently kept on and on, he wouldn't have paid me much (or any) attention.

I still have a lot to do...lots of ant beds I know I need to do something with before I mow! Pick up big sticks and limbs. I think what I have raked, but had in a pile of sorts (not taken off) - I'm going to spread those leaves all back out and mow over all of that. lol

I even went today and filled up the mower gas can with NO ethanol gas...I'm ready to go to do some stuff! :D

Computer in our car says check engine.....and so it turns out to be a computer glitch that is going to cost a lot of money on Friday for people where we bought the car to get rid of it......Computers in cars are fallible and a big PITA!
