    It's now called Conversations under the button Inbox in the upper right between your name and Alerts. .

    unless that person has it turned off


    click on username in posts and there should be a popup...if the person has their messages set to receive it will say "start a conversation" next to a profile link....if you click on that it will go to the place where you write messages
