not really isnt the first day of winter the solstice?...and from then on the days get longer so the daylight/night ratio is technically the same as autumn
Kids handed out flyers for that in my parent's neighborhood this year. A lot of Colorado days are pretty sunny though so sometimes it's better to wait then spend $20.
I rode to the gym yesterday with the top down on my convertible. It's warm around here. I wish we could get some of that east coast snow right about now. The ski mountain is closed since theirs not enough snow. It's frustrating as hell
Just issued by the National Weather Service ................ WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH LATE THURSDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Heavy snow possible. i'm actually glad i don't live in the tropics. summer i would never miss, but winter, well i suppose it over does things sometimes too. seven inches? that's not snow, 20 FEET, that's snow. winter isn't the only reason cars in cities are a bad idea. but it is one of them. snow plows are fun to watch. especially the rotary kind.
It’s all relative, 20 feet of snow in the Sierra Nevada’s or in the Cascades is manageable, welcome, and even necessary in order to provide water for drinking and irrigation, but 7 inches in snow in a metropolis with 3 million people, most of whom are driving cars can sometimes be a nightmare.
well that's kind of the point; no one who lives in a city should ever have to drive a car (other then to make their attempted escape from it) of course if they're masochists, well to each their own. (well yes, i know about 'should', but public transit is the whole point of cities, and if it isn't adiquite, that's usually because a whole lot of not very smart people voted against it)
I heard years back some advice that in places with snow that it's a good idea to wear sunglasses on sunny days because the Sun can reflect off the snow and be harsh to one's eyes.
