Played basketball every year but two.
Listened to Nazereth, Grand Funk Railroad, BTO.. Friend of mine had a 70 Cuda, so we'd sneak out there for a smoke break at noon. The 70s were a blast.

The 70s in the US were all about Disco and Heavy Metal, with the big record companies still in charge of what consumers could hear... it wasn't until the age of the Internet that the floodgates of control opened and independent producers and companies allowed more freedom of musical expression.

According to Wikipedia it originated in the 70s but it did not get officially recorded until 79 due to poverty and lack of acceptance outside of gettho neighborhoods. I don't remember hearing it til late 80s?
