Saw Wayne LaPierre on CNN. He's bashing a socialist agenda. I feel like more social programming is a better solution for Americans. I don't know what to think about having armed guards at schools. I guess my feeling is that students from disadvantaged backgrounds will end up being targets of programs to end violence in schools.

The CEO of the National Rifle Association said a bunch of stuff on the news this morning. He seems like he's worried about the number of people who will end up on the ban list. I say the more the better.

Gun laws don't work, so more gun laws don't work. Pot laws don't work, so we need stricter pot laws.

Brought to you by the logic of Jeff Sessions...

Could this shooting be a conspiracy between the NRA and the Broward County Sheriff's department?

Those four deputy sheriffs who stood outside waiting for the shooter, were they there to make sure he did his job? They were there when the shooting began apparently and did nothing. Note how they only blamed one person, and downplayed that he is actually a deputy sheriff too.

And who was the first to comment on the shooting? The Broward County Sheriff, who is to blame because his department was informed in advance that this guy was a threat to the school, and again they did nothing. So from start to finish the Broward County Sheriff is to blame.

Were the officers ordered to stand down and take positions outside? it would seem so... otherwise they were just too scared of facing down an AR-15 (which they could probably identify by the sounds). So dereliction of duty if nothing else. Perhaps they just respect gun owners rights to shoot whomever they choose?

    But why a conspiracy?
To sell more guns of course!

Follow this: The NRA is responsible for successfully lobbying against a National Database for gun background checks, thus allowing people with mental difficulties to easily obtain guns (more gun sales, Yeah!)

Now after this shooting, President Frump is demanding that teachers carry guns (more gun sales, yippie!)

And of course after ANY shooting, esp when gun control becomes the issue, people buy more guns! Hallelujah, praise the Lord, pass the ammunition!

There was a big lull in Gun sales under Trump (since they didn't have to worry about gun control - until now!) another big shooting and yes, more gun sales!

Ah, but they played their cards too predictably.

And now there is a big boycott, not just of the NRA, but of any bizes doing biz with them.

Please realize the ones financing the NRA are NOT ITS MEMBERS! They only contribute a very small portion of their revenue.

The rest comes from Companies that advertise and go into partnership with the NRA.

These include the gun companies, related hardware companies, thru their industry associations, as well as all those companies who partner to get more biz out of NRA members.

It's all about the money, so that's where the boycott is aiming - not the NRA itself, but those COMPANIES who support it.

Companies are all worried about the power of Social Media to influence their biz negatively, so they respond so fast when faced with social pressure from the public.

There is a list of Companies still supporting the NRA here:
These Companies Are Sticking By The NRA | HuffPost

I recommend those with a shred of decency who puts the lives of children over the irrational fears of gun "hobbyists" boycott any company doing biz with the NRA.

I was going to make a purchase on Amazon today, but decided not to (they air NRA-TV along with Apple, YouTube and Roku).

NRA TV encourages violence and should not be supported by major tech companies.

I'm thinking it was just poor training and a confusing situation.

We don't know enough about what went down...timelines, where theses guys were, etc.
A report is due next week.

I knew there was something funky about Whole Foods. I went there today and noticed/recalled that they are partnered or owned by Amazon. That in and of itself doesn't make them weird. But now I wonder if they're in league with the NRA.

The NRA buys politicuans as much as any other lobbyist group. Besudes, exactly what measure do you propose that would've prevented this?

He obviously wants to provoke, otherwise he had explained already why he posted that pic in this particular thread. Which is the second thread he posted it in already.
Guess he figured out himself its more appropriate in the gun control thread than in this one.

Well that makes it perfectly all right then. And makes people who bring the problem up hypocritical whiners by default... Sigh

Oooh boy! I wish I had an NRA decal and card so I can get groovy discounts. Did you join the Mickey Mouse club too? You get a pair of cool ears with that!

I bet if all the people who support gun-control, joined the NRA (thereby boosting their membership 100 fold!), and told the NRA they want them to support gun control, they wouldn't listen or budge an inch. So if you think that supporting the NRA means they listen to YOU, you are mistaken. They listen to gun manufacturers mostly, advertisers somewhat, members, not really. They only care about the money, not guns, or gun rights. And they ESPECIALLY don't give a shit about dead children (so long as they're not their own!)

The school children around the nation are planning a walkout in March.

I worry for their safety since it will be known when they are all outside, unprotected.

I'm not too sure that it is a problem. Or at the very least it's a problem that is too far gone to fix. Politicians are mostly for money. Both sides are bought off mostly.

Lol 2 extremely opposite remarks. It's not a problem because its not fixable anymore :p

I understand the solution does not come from you. Other Americans will have to change this. I don't mind. Not everyone is progressive.

Dick's sporting Goods has stopped selling assault style weapons in all of its stores and raised the age of purchase to 21 for all guns.

After the Florida shooting the CEO, Edward Stack, did research and found out they had sold a shotgun to the shooter in the past.

This is a bold move by Dick's as they stand to lose millions of dollars in gun sells and leaves only Bass Pro Shops as the lone big retailer selling assault weapons.
Dick's is headquartered in the Pittsburgh area, a longtime gun region.

More guns. Guns on guns on guns. That makes wonderful sense. Let’s let anyone have any gun anytime. Tneee is no other possible solution. Even though America accounts for 95% of children’s gun deaths. That’s fine. We need more guns
