Me neither, if only because i sometimes (fairly regular) couldn't hear clearly what they're saying. I found out the hard way. Didn't expect this at all. I can almost always follow everyone on my own phone. But these customers often speak unclearly, too soft, have retarded accents, have bad connections, are too mad, etc.
I found it real easy not to take their tone or angry words personal. That wasn't the main issue for me. I just couldn't perform my job properly.

 

I was good at customer service when it was part of my job.

 

Im much better at it in person. Body language baby!

Me too i think. It's my hearing that was the main problem.

 

oh I am good at taking calls, it's just super annoying catering to someone who is telling me to shove their bill up my ass! Makes you not want to talk on the phone ever again! I leave my job and do not answer my own phone b/c I am sick of talking! I think it takes a certain kind of person to have strength to deal with angry people

 

I've had to add a "Trigger Tracker" to my bullet journal.

I have alot of symptoms from stress and it happens when I'm triggered.

This morning, the neighbors are taunting me and my dog again and I'm triggered!

 

I was actually really good at understanding different accents when I used to work at a call center. Everyone bitched about taking calls from people from other countries but they were always my favorite calls.

But over all I really sucked at that job. I have no patience for assholes

 

I had the biggest accent problem with dutch folks from the south of the Netherlands. Brabants. Perhaps bird_migration has one too. And because it was from the other side of the country and i guess with mobile phones it just was very intensive for me to hear it all clearly. I also wasn't in a cubicle (which would have been more beneficial for me) but a hip open workspace. All together an unfortunate combi for me.
I also can't converse at all during a concert. Always have to signal, after several attempts of course: wait for the goddamn song to end and then tell me :-D

You had this job too?! You know what's really crazy?? I always think of this girl I worked with at a call center when I see your name (or I was only just forgetting this). That be crazy if we worked together!!

Oh yes, and I well, I wasn't too bad, but I was anxious as hell doing it!
