i like avril enough. i mean, shes alright, but im just not young enough to feel her angst. i remember it, so i can respect it. but im also old enough to be like "eh, give it a couple of years and you'll understand better, dear..."

im inebriated, been drinking the scotch. kids arent down yet, so we are waiting until then before we hit the bottle again, or the nyquil, and hit the hay.
got some nookie last night, always a good time. if i get to bed early enough, i can get up when hubby gets home, and we can see how he feels. maybe squeeze in a round two if hes up to it.

anyways, my dad always had his dugout on the coffee table. and i would ask what it was, and he would Dad-grunt and put it away. i was 14 before i asked my mom, pointedly, and got an answer. but my parents always said if i was interested in something to let them know first. and they never gave me a reason not to trust them, so i did come to them first. and they made sure i was appropriately prepared, and also not allergic. you know what i havent done? harder drugs.
honesty, reality, critical thinking. not things fostered in public school, but if present, make raising kids significantly easier. i turned out ok, not making my own money, but saving enough to make one income work. middle bro really computer smart, but money struggles. younger bro? successful. pursued school, hes barely 28 years old, and officially a manager at a restaurant (certainly one you've heard of, usually positioned near malls. they have great pasta bowls....)

i turned out ok. im not worried about my kids seeing us do anything we do. my parents still smoke ciggys like they are going out of style. i dont still smoke. i quit for my kids. ill have one occasionally, enjoy it thoroughly, really relish it, and not buy another pack for years. and now, having pulled the 6th grader out of public school, i dont really have to worry what he might see or say, and that shit is priceless. its super weird to not be beholden to the public school system, but its fucking great. there is so much anxiety alleviated. its awesome.

She was the type of poseur my friends and I would bash back in the day. Then we grew up, moved on, and forgot she existed.
