I politely say "What are you, some kind of fucking moron?"

If I'm with someone, I'll say to them something like, "You can't go anywhere without running into some asshole," loud enough for the rude person to hear.

So you are judging by a clickish pupularity contest before you get to have your own experience with someone to know for yourself? You have let others decide for you? You may miss some special, unnoticed people that way....

Deidre, one of the things I liked about you is that you acknowledge everyone who bothers to say something on one of your threads....I have said just as valid things as other people on threads before and got ignored so now, I don't really go to those people's threads anymore, as it seems to be just favoritism, and to me that is pretty rude...and makes one feel discounted....so to avoid feeling like that, i don't bother anymore.....
The like system is pretty shitty, really, imo.

I for one don't have the time to reply to every post. Try to answer most if I have a good response though.

Usually you get back what you give. Give a smile and a "how's it going," and you'll more than likely get the same back. If you're having a bad day and say nothing---that's what you get back--usually. I don't really run into rude people, except on the road.

edit: there are some rude folks on here and I'm sure I'm one of them occasionally

I appreciate you saying that and I feel that way sometimes. I’m at work but have read these replies and it’s helped me feel...idk...not crazy? Lol  Sometimes you think you’re the only one experiencing these things but I can see, I’m not alone. I’ll come back later to discuss more.

I was talking about the likes that all one has to do is click on when anyone bothers to say something on a thread of yours...not actually being addressed or spoken to.

I can run into some pretty cut throat people who shove and push at rummage sales......lol...but it does not bother me...they are hungry is all....lol

and since I don't know them or vice versa, I never take it personally...i just have to move quicker ahead of them, is all....which I can do.

One lady always camped out at the sale I went to last weekend 2 hours to wait before anyone and she would go to the jewelry...take her arm and sweep it all off the table in a big bag of hers, and then look at it, putting back what she was not going to buy back,. She was not there last weekend....so I finally got to see what i had been missing so many times before....lol
i could never try to get there that early...not that hungry here....1 hour to wait is enough for me.

    Not at all,
I only check when I already have suspicions. I don't use a calculator either, but someone who has already raised my suspicions and has posted 600 messages with no likes is more likely to be a troll. I never use this judgement on new members either.
As you already must have seen, I am happy to chat with almost anyone on this site, particularly when it is about their cats :yum:, but I tend to avoid most of the 'relationship' banter with people who I do not know very well.

Just say something like, "Did you know that your kids learn how to act by watching you? Pretty scary, huh?"

My reaction really depends on how I am feeling at the time ! I really try hard to be a nice guy but I got a devil lurking Inside of me and I can be a real Hurtful bastard ( working on that though all the time )
When they say "Lose your temper " Lose is the operative word !

I have seen a few replies from people where I am fairly certain that it as the alcohol doing the talking. Probably how a few people have ended up banned. LOL.

If I’m honest, maybe people aren’t always rude but I’ve been feeling blue off and on lately missing my grandmother. I’ve talked about her before, she died roughly three years ago and so maybe I’m sensitive to what I normally wouldn’t be? Hmmm. Channeling Dr. Phil.....

I am surprised to hear that you were banned, you always seem like a decent guy to me,
I would have blamed the ex moderator, LOL. Perhaps that is why he (or she) is now an ex.!
I would hate to be a moderator and even if I was, while I would have no problem getting rid of the spammers, I would always leave any decision about banning an established member to Skip.
I still wonder what David did. His conspiracy beliefs were a bit crazy, but he seemed to be an ok guy at heart. I know that he could be a bit rude at times and I advised him to count to 20 before he hit the post button. Then he suddenly disappeared while I was in hospital for a few days, no doubt he went too far.
