I found a website listing natural cyanogenic glycosides (yes i believe it mentioned them all as a whole for these effects) as a relatively safe cure for cancer. they stated that it was safer than chemotherapy (most things are) and that natural occuring glycosides are "safe" (of course like most poisons it has a ld-50). heres the website http://www.frot.co.nz/sift/apricots.html heres part of it: Natural cyanide is locked in a sugar molecule. It is normally found in over 2,000 known unrefined foods and grasses. A concentration of about 2 or 3 percent laetrile is found in the whole kernels of most fruits, including apricots, apples, cherries, peaches, plums, and nectarines, and in some 70 plants commonly fed to animals for fodder. A sprouting seed produces from 10 to 30 times as much laetrile as does the mature plant. Few citrus fruits contain laetrile. Shelled and unshelled apricot kernels contain 2 to 3 percent amygdalin and are also excellent sources of protein, unsaturated fatty acids, and minerals. According to its advocates, laetrile is a highly selective substance that attacks only the cancerous cells. When laetrile is eaten and absorbed by normal cells, an enzyme called rhodanese detoxifies the cyanide, which is then excreted through the urine. But because cancer cells are completely deficient in rhodanese and are instead surrounded by another enzyme, beta-glucosidase, which releases the bound cyanide from the laetrile at the site of malignancy, laetrile is believed to attack only the malignant areas. so what do you guys think? think its a safe cure for cancer?

I am pretty certain that this method would be completely ineffective. While Rhodanese catalyzes the detoxification of cyanide, additional sources above normal concentrations are likely to cause severe damage or even death. If Rhodanese was fully effective in detoxifying large amounts of cyanide, cyanide poisoning would be non-existant. I tried to look up some legitimate sources for this on the internet, but couldn't find one scientific journal that supports this theory. And while one might argue that a journal submission is not needed for truth... something dealing with cyanide needs approval. Claims say that this "natural cyanide" along with Vitamin B17 are 100% effective in the treatment of cancer. What they so quickly slip by is that this has only been tested on one type of cancer cell in vitro. This means that the effectiveness of the cyanide inside the body has not been thoroughly examined and proven to be harmful, or conversely, effective.
anyone have any research or experience for or against the info in the opening post of this thread? im hoping the guy that made that website wasnt thinking population control when he posted this info on the internet, but its possible thats what he was aiming for.
I've actually been looking for legititmate articles online since you posted this article. I still really haven't found anything. The FDA says that the seeds are "safe for their intended use" which is persic oil, whatever that is. We do know however, that when eaten raw, the seeds can kill you (I read that on a few sites). BUT... there IS a cancer treatment that is made from the seeds... maybe from the oil? I have no idea. The seeds have been proven to be toxic beause of the hydrogen-cyanide, but if they are boiled for 20 minutes, all toxic properties are eliminated. The boiling kills a certain enzyme in the seed, so I wonder if the people using it as a cancer treatment, are boiling it or not. I'm still doing research. Overall I'm seeing that it just isn't possible.
I was diagnosed terminally ill after radiotherapy shrunk the tumour. But it was still malignant. hooked on morphine and fed by tube, desperate to beat it I had massive doses of vit C by infusion. Took Solgar Optein (liquid vits...... I could not swallow ) and 600 ml of Essiac per day ( Google search > Rene Caisse ) 5 years down the line my Doctors cannot explain my cure. Now tests and scans can find no evidence of malignancy. My cure......A Positive mind, Vitamins and Essiac, and my determination to be able to once again walk this earth.
