To be honest, this was my biggest complaint about the movie. With those wretched 3D glasses on, i could barely make out shapes for the first 20 minutes.

 

The current working Title for Star Wars episode 9 is now trIXie.

Now we all know that couldn’t possibly end up being the final title to the movie, nevertheless star wars fandom are scrambling around to figure out what trIXie means.....

 

Probably the name of some spaceship.

 

Good guess but so far the leading contender seems to be that somehow Supreme Leader Snoke of the First Order is coming back from the dead

For those of you who are keeping up on Star Wars News; I can’t understand for the life of me why Kelly Marie Tran who played Rose Tico in The Last Jedi, has been bullied and harassed off Instagram by Cyber Punks and Racist Trolls?



They've been calling her the first woman of color but that's not true, that honor belongs to Femi Taylor who played Oola in Return of the Jedi



And there was Lyn Me from Jabba's Palace


For some reason I'm suddenly reminded of a quote by Stephen Colbert: "Trump attracts more skinheads, than a bottle of Rogaine" ~sigh~

Yeah the relationship between Finn and Rey has caused an uproar among the alt-right - they can't stand it, nor can they stand the diversity.

 

To be fair though, the whole subplot with Finn, Rose and Del Toro was a waste if space.

That same article mentions all the crap the two white guys that played young anakin got because neither were well liked characters

But because she was asian, its a race thing?

Boyega is a great actor, him and Phasma were wasted in the last movie, which made Rose annoying.

Or put it another way, if Rose was white, still would have copped same level backlash, her race is just an easier way

 

I think that Rose is cute!

 

I agree Rose is great, but sadly the hate parade continues..............

 

For me anyway, if The Last Jedi had all the parts it had with Luke, Rey, Ren in tact.

But instead of the whole Finn off to Casino planet thing, they Just had a Finn vs Phasma chase, showdown. It would have been the biggest kickass movie ever.

I didnt mind Rose, but that subplot was just blah and meant even less Phasma

 

I see what you mean. The casino was a novelty, and didn't do much for the movie I thought. But I guess it was exciting to see them romping about on gigantic cows destroying everything. It could've been such a villainous adventure with more Phasma!

Yes, Rose was a champion. I can't believe more people don't love her.

 

Watching it brought up similar feelings to that time on if your favourite bands decide to go all ‘jazz fusion’ on there next album

 

On the flip side, not that Tran is chinese, but we in other TV shows and movies we seem to be getting the token chinese character to pander to the market in china a lot more nowadays. Pacific rim, Transformers, ID42 etc

 

Read a whole article on that, on average Hollywood movies with orientals in it do much better than movies without in China. And being China is often the biggest single contributor to worldwide box office take ins...get used to it.

 

On the flip side Detective Chinatown 2 made half a billion dollars, nobody in the west has even heard of it
