granted exposure is exploitative, but, isn't exploitation kind of the whole point and market for why there are beauty pageants in the furst place?

if you're going to have people compete on the basis of intellect and wisdom, skills and accomplishments and so on,
heaven forbid there should ever be an audience for such a contest, what place does gender discrimination or even identity, have in it?

 

I would love it if one of them had enough balls to come out naked, with no makeup on, no shoes and did her question answer... or in the evening gown section, come out naked Just naked for all parts but has to get in the top ten first before doing that. That would make for good ratings and she would make enough money through interviews and promotional jobs after being disqualified or losing.

It is called a beauty pageant! beauty is and has always been subjective. can be whatever you want it to be, and that could be naked and free to be so, which is beautiful.

I don't give a crap about beauty pageants, but I'll share this:

 

I've worked for several large companies before, and every single public relations move, including ones that seem good, has simply been in the reckless pursuit of good PR to generate brand loyalty for the sake of profit.

Corporations are entities which only seek growth. Starbucks giving racial sensitivity training? For profit. Apple announcing stronger privacy on their platform? Profit. Company building houses for Habitat for Humanity? Profit.

No bikinis in Miss America? For profit. My suspicion is bikini's will be back in Miss America 2021.

Lol. I was thinking about this... with the way things are wouldn’t being naked like showing your inner beauty? Apparently covering your nipples and vag is considered too sexy, maybe a burka would be best this way, you never know what the person looks like and the person can be judged by what they say and do, either that or blindfold the judges. I am liking the burka miss America pageant idea. This should satisfy the masses who are complaining.

But then you will have people saying you are expropriating my culture... then with all the outrage over bikinis and burkas, a rebel comes out naked... and wins.
