Well, dammit Jim, I had to look it up, so I didn't know it, nor would I have recognized it.... Here's a funny double one I just found out about.... In Star Trek the Next Generation, Jim, I'm sure you know what alien race says, "Resistance is useless!" However, what science fiction comedy did this come from and what unpleasant species said it first?

 

I haven't a clue about that, except that it's "Resistance is futile!"

Resistance is futile, is the Borg tagline... and starship captains need this in their lexicon Resistance is futile is a spinoff of "resistance is useless" -- what a disgusting Vogon, an alien race with the third worst poetry in the universe, says in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy while throwing Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect off the ship they hitchhiked on, to their supposed certain death.
