I have a question.

In a driveway that is easily 3 cars deep, what purpose would it serve to park at the end of your own driveway, as close to the street as possible, instead of pulling close to your house all the way up in the driveway?

 

If it was me, not that I ever do that, but I could imagine it would block visitors from parking up? Lol.

To get the zero turn out of the garage and have enough room to maneuver around to cut the grass around surrounding flower beds next to and alongside the driveway and walkway

 

I can't understand it.

These neighbors do it to the point that their back bumper is hanging over the street gutter that runs along side the street.

They never have company.

The neighbors all have their own driveways with ample parking so there's no street parking necessary.

It has nothing to do with landscape care.

It just baffles me to no end.

 

Only thing I can think of is so you don't have to shovel snow off of the whole driveway, but I doubt that applies right now.

 

You're right. In fact, it never applies where I live. We don't get snow.

It's the strangest thing ever...like there is going to be some benefit to it.

The only time I've ever done it was to give the toddlers room to ride their tricycles in the part of the driveway closest to the house, keeping them away from the street.

These people don't have any kids or dogs or anything that uses the driveway closest to the house.

 

You know what you need to do Aeri? You needa stick a banana in their tail pipe. that'll show those pelicans for parking like pelicans.

 

I've so wanted to put a potato in their tailpipe but you know what ruins all the fun in the world? Freakin' video cameras on houses!

 

Extra walking exercise from their car to the front door and back.

 

That would be the only reason...to get in those 10 extra steps per day.

 

They could also be trying to save gas money. Those few extra feet add up over time.
