I've noticed over the past few years that not only do I get sick when the weather changes drastically or when the seasons change, but my mood does as well. It's not something I can control or that i'm even aware of, it just happens. I tend to get very depressed in the winter. I think it's more of a guilt issue. I run Cross Country in the fall, but in the winter it's too cold for me to run >even though others do anyway< Your eyes water and become blurry, your nose drips, your legs feel numb, every breath you take of cold air stings...So, therefore, during the winter I workout. I still feel guilty that I'm not running though. But this is only a small portion of the issue. I, just in general, feel gloomy. During the sping, however, when there is that smell in the air that you recognize as "spring" I tend to be very energetic and care free. Does anyone else feel this way? I'm just curious..
How extreme are your mood swings? I was just diagnosed as hypomanic, which is cosidered bipolar spectrum. There is one type on bipolar disorder that is seasonal. If your moods swings go from depression to uncontrolled hyperness to the point of losing sleep, you should see a doctor. Peace & Love
I don't think it's something that I need therapy on. I think it's just something weird I do that only I notice. It doesnt change my whole personality, I just make note that I feel a little gloomy, not all the time, just during the first week or two of the season change at most.
