I don't think you can judge a person based upon their musical tastes. It doesn't work out. People listen to different to different music for different reasons. It's such a personal thing, that there's no way the generalizations you're required to form to make those judgements could ever be completely accurate.

I like those.. and contrary to popular belief, Limp Bizkit are actually fucking ace. Or were.. I mean.. listen to "rearrange". Their bassist is well good.

 

Limp Bizkit sucks....anyone with that name should just quit and shoot theirselves.

That list could go on forever. Doesn't it suck when you randomly see something on tv about an artist going platinum or #1 or whatever, and you have no idea who they are or what they sound like...that always bothers me

besides, they started this whole poseur/pop/punk trend you see today with good charlotte, new found glory, and yellow card for example...

 

Let's put it this way: I have never met an interesting person who was a fan of one of the bands in that list.

Limp Bizkit is and has always been horrible. However, seeing as you also enjoy the mind-numbing sounds of Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, and Simple Plan, I can understand why you would think that Limp Bizkit is good. I mean, hell, I'd listen to just about anything over Simple Plan.

 

I have never met an interesting person.

However, I have met many awesome people who are fans of the bands you listed.

Hmmm well im not sure if i suck or not....i don't like any of those bands as bands, but some of those listed i do like some of their songs.... does that mean i suck? or does it mean i have an eclectic taste? You remind me of when i was at school and if you liked even one band which other people didn't then you were a wierdo hehehe, good to see people have matured since then

 

I have nothing against these bands.

It's only that people who listen A LOT to more than five or so of these bands music (often) seem to be a little metaphorically brain dead as far as music goes. I'm not saying anything against them personally, I just think that they need to listen to MORE music...

 

If you listen to more than 5 of them wouldn't that mean you do listen to more bands lol....im not defending them too hard as i don't follow any bands really, cept my favs - Greenday, Reel Big Fish, Ska-P, Flogging Molly and Madness.....and i only follow them because ive seen them live and love most things they do.....

 

People always seem to think that just because I listen to the likes of Good Charlotte that I don't have any good taste in music. I mean, it's so frustrating when people judge other people on a meer few bands that someone likes..
None of those listed are my favourites or anything, I simply enjoy simple music aswell as complex music. I hate it when people can't understand that music can simply be a form of escapism.
My favourite bands are Billy Talent, The Kinks, QOTSA, Hootie And The Blowfish, Reel Big Fish, The Doors, The Psychedelic Furs, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, My Chemical Romance, Hot Hot Heat... My point being that you can't judge someones entire taste just because they happen to like a few bands that are classed as "poseurs" -.-'
