I just finished reading this yesterday and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to find out more about Zen, I found it to be very concise, yet very informative.

Is this the Suzuki-roshi that went to San Francisco and had Baker-roshi as a student? I read some of his stuff and it's really great.. very impressive and inspiring guy. There is a biografy of one of Baker's students which is a great read.

Dunno if that's him but he was responsible for bringing Zen Buddhism to the west, he translated several Japanese works and wrote several books on Zen Buddhism.
