the Daytona 24hr race is on in a couple weeks and I've been asked to suit up and learn the track and car as I might need to jump in and do a couple of stints with an American team. My new team boss put in the good word. I've never done anything like that so I'm bit nervous. I will test the track etc soon, but I kinda hope they don't need me.

Back still hurting from when I pulled a muscle or slipped a disc on Wednesday. Not too bad now but definatly the worst non incident injury I ever had

 

It does not take much to injure your back. hell if roll over in my sleep and sleep on it wrong that'll do it.

Basically I haven't learned yet how to properly adjust my body for my injury. If I drop something on the floor my initial reaction is to bend down and grab it. But that also throw my back out. I also have a habit of shifting my weight into one leg while I'm standing which also does my back in after long periods, but honestly standing with weight even across both legs feels odd to me. I much prefer a slightly bent leg, it feels and looks lady like.

A few of us here now are suffering back injuries..

 

Yeah, normally I would call this a "getting old" injury, but this one is affecting everyday movement.

 

I would say even when I say my back is "good again" there's still pain. I guess I have adapted my pool stance to compensate for the injury a little. I noticed this lately and actually that tells me a lot about my poor performance last year when I think about it.

 

I ordered a tens unit today, thanks Irm for letting me know these things exist, I cant wait to try it

For me it's my shoulder rather than my back, and it has been unbearable lately. Hoping the tens unit can give me a little bit of relief

 

I ordered one too I can't wait. I best read the instructions though because I don't want to overdo it lol I need to learn and understand what prolonged use and intensity will do. I would also have them on my shoulders it will feel great I hope like in those blades but I hope it doesn't hurt from my metal shoulder surgery. I have 3 plates and many nails hammered in me. I'm also worried what it might do near my heart. So I need to research a lot.
