I did, for $20. It may be for my ex..... It may be for a gf in the future, or maybe my present gf. It depends. Anywho, what does it look like, the extras you get? I got the silver package. Does it include date of purchase and all that jazz? I personally don't care about date of purchase (just today, feb. 2!) in case I wanna save this for my soul mate years down the road or maybe give to an ex.
is this an actual star? like one that fell from the sky? or is it one hanging there still? don't get me wrong, the idea is brilliant, but i can't figure it out, mate.
yeah, a star that is still there. There is a website you can go to and buy one for as low as $20 in any of like, 14 constallations, including all 12 of the zodiac. You get the certificate of authenticity and all sorts of other cool crap, heh.
I don't think you actually purchase a star, you just pay to name one after someone. I named one after my mom, I think it's somwhere in the Andromeda galaxy.
You can't acctually name a star. They only enter it in a book as "your star." Its a big scam in my opinion. http://www.wired.com/news/business/0,1367,49345,00.html Check that link "The International Astronomical Union is the only scientific body authorized to name astronomical bodies." http://www.iau.org/IAU/FAQ/starnames.html The above link explains why you can't name a star.
way to rain on mine and many others parade...sometimes ignorance is bliss....Mostly it isn;t, but in this case, I would rather been none the wiser.... damn it, thanks a lot.
Just trying to help... I myself at one point was going to "buy a star." But then I read up on it, and figured it to be a scam. Didn't mean to rain on your parade, just thought people should be informed.
