so, i just started working at a restaurant, i probably shouldn't say where because it's a very big chain.
and they don't recycle their beer bottles! i couldn't believe it. and we go through SOOOO many of them, and they are SUCH a huge chain!
i've only been there a month, so i don't want to make waves, but maybe in another month or so, i'll ask them to start. it's not really any extra work--all the other places i've worked at just have a seperate bucket for bottles. i don't know this, but i bet there are even companies that come pick up the bottles at no charge.
i mean, if word got out, it would be terrible PR for them!

if anyone has any info that i could give them about starting a recycling program, i'd appreciate it.

    some people....

    peace.

call the trash companies and see who will pick up brown-green glass. know the prices. talk to the folks who clear tables: would recycling slow the pace down?
think of reasons a company would not have the separation and have ideas to make it work.

I personally feel that everyone should recycle, including businesses, however I don't know how you could get your restaurant to start recycling, maybe start a strike, I bet your boss would like that

New York State has mandatory bottle return. Each one of those lil suckers is worth $0.05.

I've seen street people with huge bags of bottles & cans for redemption.

Somebody has got to want those bottles!
