hey, thread necromancy's the only practice some of us get... damn corpses are expensive, you know....
it totally depends on the site. not all are obvious which they prefer, digging up an old thread, or starting a new one with the exact same topic and opening comments. there are arguments that can be made both for and against each.
I'm new here but I can say I've seen some interesting threads that just suddenly ended with a deep yawn kinda made me wish they had been active as I did have something to say. Then there's others I'm already hoping go dormant. Can't win 'em all I suppose. Good conversation is extremely hard to find internet or otherwise.
ok maybe...….. ''be aware of the date a thread has started and consider it when deciding to revive or start anew''
I don't mind necroposting at all. Some do, but even if the OP is long gone, the advice can still be relevant for others lurking around, now. #zombielife
That's because you carefully weigh what to post or not and rarely post stuff that could be regarded embarrassing or contradictional years later. I can relate
I agree. To me, it is better than starting endless new threads on a subject that has already been discussed. New members tend to do it more and it often brightens up a dull day on HF.
