im writing something thats probly going to be about 200 pages, and its a series of very short stories, with two main characters, Isaac and Finagle. (make sure to look up Isaac Asimov's three laws and Finagles laws sometime). It should be interesting, this is what it is so far, tell me what you think pleeease.

    Three Laws
    Two Brothers
    One Misconception

Take a world full of robots and humans. There are two people that are trying to uncover the secret to everything. A robot name Isaac, and a human named Finagle. They each have their code of morals. Isaac believes that he must always defend himself, unless told otherwise, but above all else must protect humans. Finagle knows to trust only certain humans, to trust all robots, and above all, to not put an ounce of trust in luck.

They have known each other since childhood. Finagle’s mother had given his father a robot with artificial intelligence an hour before her water broke. The robot was equipped with birth giving knowledge, and was turned on to help deliver Finagle. Finagle’s mother died during birth, and his father died of disease some months later. The robot raised Finagle for years, learning what was not programmed as he taught Finagle. When Finagle was 8 he decided to name the robot. He named him Isaac, because he saw it on a pamphlet that came with him. The pamphlet described the robots three laws, and referred to the laws as Isaac’s, so that must be his name. Isaac in turn nicknamed Finagle Fin, as speaking and typing Finagle is tough for some.

When Fin was eighteen, he and Isaac left their home on Earth to explore the universe. They were among the first generation of explorers to go outside the galaxy. They were the very first people to discover a ring. It was a gigantic ring surrounding a sun. When studied, they found it to be about the size of Earth’s orbit, and had Earth’s diameter, and had roughly the same gravity as it was spun at 770 miles per second. But there was more space. 3 billion times the surface area. And it was only inhabited by primitive beasts.

Around the edges of the ring were giant walls made to keep air in. These were made to look like cement structures with arches all along, some entrances, some decoration. This reminded the two of the Coliseum, and so they named the ring Rome. They claimed the world to be their own, and then sold land to inhabitants of Earth. They had sold each square mile for a hundred dollars, as there was plenty of land, and plenty of buyers. One billionaire gave half of his life savings in exchange for a portion of Rome that was the size of Earth. He built a fence around it and didn’t let anyone enter. Then he called it “The Land of Niven.”

After two decades of selling land on Rome, Isaac and Fin left to explore more possibilities. They found other worlds, and other rings, some inhabited, some not. They visited all manner of places, encountered similar beings to themselves headed in the opposite direction, including variations where they were both robots or both humans. After a good twenty more years they had grown old, or at least Fin had. They decided that they would explore only one more world, as a birthday present for Fin, who was 65. It was on that world that their journey truly began.

    ---- ----- ----- -- --- - -- ------- -- --

The world seemed to be primitive, only lived on by animals. Isaac took readings of heat in the surrounding areas, and noticed one heat reading of a creature standing on two legs. They walked towards it.

As they got closer to the being they saw a hut. It was made of wood and straw, and covered with some sort of oil. A man that looked similar to the monks of Earth greeted them.

He explained why he was there. “I once lived on Earth, but the temple I lived in was destroyed. I came to this planet soon afterwards. That was fifty years ago.”

“But you appear to be no older than twenty!” exclaimed Fin.

“That is a bit complicated to explain. I must start at the beginning. A long time ago, the very first monk spoke to God. God told him to live a life of celibacy, and ever since we monk lived that life. That was centuries before my time. When I joined the monastery, I had devoted myself the most diligently, and never rested for a moment in trying to uncover what the purpose was. Then the temple was destroyed, with me in it.”

The monk took a deep breath, preparing himself for what he would say next. “I died, and was brought to heaven. There God talked to me himself, because of the diligence that I showed. He was weeping, and a man next to him was laughing. God had tried to say something, but could not get it out through the sobs. The man beside him cackled coldly and told me that the first monk heard him wrong. He said, “Celebrate”. After that God tossed me a seed and I was suddenly standing on this world.

“I knew what to do. I planted the seed. A plant grew overnight, and I picked it. I was old and tired after a long life. Before I rested for what I knew to be my last rest, I bit into the plant. Instantly my strength grew, and I could feel the lost years coming back to me.”

“Amazing!” Isaac exclaimed. He always believed everything, as he could not lie.

“I’ll believe it when I see it” said Fin.

“You can try it for yourself.” The monk said as he pulled out a plant. “I took a few seeds in the plant and have been growing them ever since. The seeds will grow in just about anything, and they never decay.”

Fin bit into the plant, and minutes later he was twenty again. For an hour he could do nothing but stare at himself in the shining body of Isaac.

The monk decided to talk to Isaac, as Fin was preoccupied. He explained that he wanted to fur fill God’s wishes to celebrate, but was the only intelligent being on the planet. Isaac agreed to take him with them until a suitable planet was found, and in exchange Isaac and Fin were given enough seeds and plants for Fin to live as long as he wanted. Fin was told never to eat them during an eclipse, to never eat more then one a day, and to keep it away from pets, as it gave them gas.

On their way to the spacecraft, Fin asked one final question of the monk. “Why was their oil covering his hut?”

He explained that God did manage to tell him to make a house out of straw, wood, and slick before sending him to this place. As they boarded the ship, Fin swore her heard maniacal laughter about a third brother.
