april comes early in the land down under.

 

Long story short, his mom kinda drives me crazy and his step dad creeps me out so that was a big part of it. And his mom decided we werent going to do the thing the entire trip was planned around because it was too crowded and her nerves couldnt take it so we had to deal with some very disappointed kids all weekend.
And our consolation prize was spending the day in one of those super cheesy towns that only exists for tourists who dont know there's more to see in this big world lol...you know the type - mini golf everywhere, airbrushed t shirts, bears in tiny cages (i had to do a lot of maneuvering on my part to avoid going to the bear exhibit because fuck that)
I'm willing to roll with the punches though but then his mom spent all weekend complaining how things never go according to plan, which was super annoying because she was the one who changed the plans lol

Plus two of his family members had a stomach virus the whole time

And I saw some really hateful, xenophobic bumper stickers for sale that disturbed me but thats neither here nor there

Short of some severe or fatal injury, I can't think of a more hellish vacation. Yikes. The shirts, the bears, the vomiting, the fighting. Good god.

Huh

 

We went up to see hubby's sister today. We haven't seen her since the day of her husband's funeral. She's been staying busy doing tax returns for people and she's doing well since becoming widowed.

Hubby brought home a shit-ton of clothes that he won't use. We will go through them again and then take them to Goodwill.

We went for an early dinner. I had friend shrimp that was fairly yummy.

I need to look for a place to stay for a couple of nights in May so the 3 of us can take that little trip to Tybee Island. We should have already booked it but I couldn't get the two of them to get their collective shit together about it.

Anyway...that's what's been happening 'round here.

 

I don't feel like I'm doing very well right now. I think I'm supposed to feel like I'm on top of the world. I don't feel like that at all.

 

Keep plugging away, bud.

 

Spent almost the whole day sleeping. I felt completely wiped out. Maybe i'll do the same tomorrow. This week has been intense. My workout training has also been quite intense. My body and mind need rest.

 

i think we need rest like tigers and bears sometimes.. if we can. I dont think there is anything wrong with a 48/72 hour in bed recovery ..

 

Absolutely. Especially as we get older. I'm not 27, 28 anymore. I need to be more gentle with myself. As do most around this age.

I do need more rest... I'll get it when I die.

 

Mid twenties, early thirties, your body can endure much more intensity. Train at a much faster pace. We live different lives so there is no comparison.
