I've heard rumours that "The Dead" won't be touring this summer like they did the past few, but you definately should check out some Ratdog shows. I am also in central New York and have seen Ratdog in Syracuse last spring. They are playing in the spring tour at the Turning Stone for two nights but I'm pretty sure it's sold out. Also, Vince Welnick is playing in Syracuse in March (even though he isn't really a key member of the Dead.) I've heard lots of good things about Dark Star Orchestra too so I always try to look out for their tour dates.

This year marks 40 years - I would be very suprised if they did not tour this summer.

I think there are some health issues and contracty things to work out.
Hey, Mark from RTE asked who I was typing to....I mentioned your sig and the site traffic. His eyes popped open.

really the Dead haven't toured since 1995... while its fun, itr isn't the same.
Despite all the keyboard players, JG was the central sound... can't go back for that.
