I'm driving out to Nova Scotia this summer with an almost 4 year old. Hopefully I don't regret it. About 24 hours in the car over 4 days by the time we're done. And then 19ish on the way home over 3 days.

 

i need to transplant comfrey, strawberries, irises and a couple sunflowers today. the irises i need to deal with are super resilient refuse-to-be-dead pieces of rhizome. i really thought they were just going to be compost, that i had gotten all the decent growing bits, but no. had the "dead" sections in a bucket, it got rained on, and ive got a solid dozen more little irises pulling through. since they are so small im going to get them in a container, maybe transplant out in the fall or spring when they are stronger.

 

It is raining here of course ...

 

I actually just started a fire in wood stove it's a very cool today and I can't seem to get warmed up no matter how many naps I have

I was thinking today that I should take pictures of my thousand pounds of dirt and all the additives and the shovels and mymy fucki sore arms in the rain making the soil even heavier and me whining like a bitch because it's raining again and it shows rain everyday for like 4 days now Jesus help me....

I was thinking that because I show pictures of the good stuff all the time and I never show pictures of the dark dirty side of being a grower
