Usually you see horses with the blankets on them in summer to stop their coat from bleaching in the sun or to keep the flies from biting the horse itself. Heavier blankets are used in winter to keep them warm, but even a lighter weight blanket in summer can help insulation. You will typically see race horses with a blanket and this is because of the horses coat with the bleaching. The shinier and more well maintained the horses coat, the sleeker it will travel in the air. A bad coat increases aero-drag, think about a million billion tiny hair spoilers sticking up in the air. Almost a rediculous thing to even consider, but it's also true.

For a comparison a few years ago in NASCAR, Martin Truex Jr. Raced a matt black race car so when you touched it, it was that sort of friction feeling. They realised later in a wind tunnel, that the paint coating was causing more aero drag than a polished paint coating.

So it's basically the same thing really. Race horses are usually perceived as being treated a little more special and there's genuinely a legitimate reason for that, no matter how silly it sounds, that horses coat means a lot even to the way the sweat takes to the coat, you don't want it to soak in because it will create weight. It's all very scientific. :p

But it can so have its set backs, where horses are basically treated like an engine built to last 500 miles, not 510 miles, but to its stressed limit of 500 miles. Horses can often be too dehrdated before a race so that it isn't as heavy, I've even heard of special shampoo and conditioners for the coats that accidentally trapped in too much sweat and heat and the horse overheats.

While I understand the implications of horse racing and why it's considered cruel, I think when it is done right then it's fine. You gotta remember these kinds of horses are bred to work, they want to run. And the equestrian horses want to jump over obstacles. I won't say that about dancing horses, because I don't believe any horse was born to stare at the ground naturally.

I find horses to be of the utmost noble creatures, beautiful and caring and sometimes, you just gotta treat a horse like a horse. :) Here is my girl in the middle. I took to her immediately when we got her from the German Horse Center for work and now she's registered to me. Her name is Greycliffe, the same name my unicorn was in the dreamworld. She only threw me that one time where I broke myself in 2014 and that was my fault. She nestled up to me straight away. That's the nobility I speak of. In her own way she was asking if I was okay and that she was sorry that it had happened and that was something I really felt, other than the 6 shoulder breaks, 4 broken ribs, broken elbow and broken wrist, I felt that compassion between us both as I lay there.

Woohoo! First album in over 7 years! So exciting. He's aged a lot though.

Chris Knight is back: Almost Daylight – his ninth album and first new recording in over seven years – arrives on October 11th. It’s produced by Ray Kennedy, with special guests that include Lee Ann Womack, Dan Baird and John Prine.

NBC law and order director arrested for child porn.. guess he directed the show from his own experiences.
there a few law and orders I liked the jeff goldblum criminal intent, and the ones with the full metal jacket dude and his partner, shes cute .. criminal intent seemed to steer away from the deviant sex stuff and went for the murder and intent story that build up to it.

YES all featureless stick people now wear whatever they feel like, whatever gender they IDENTIFY AS
but for CONVENIENCE, when they're on the job, they wear pants for boys and skirts for girls
because it's the only way to identify what they are. And they'd be pointless on toilet doors if they just both wore the same thing
or the boy was wearing a skirt and the girl wearing pants.
it's just a uniform the stick people wear when they go to work.

and how did Rolling call if he doesn't have his phone.

@Irminsul if you feel so inclined to write about it some point
I would like to know basic horse body language or things to watch for when interacting with horses that tell you how they feel.
