A 'Watcher' ….. (although they are very discreet, so you have to be alert)

home actually, though it is where i grew up.
someplace i've created in my own mind,
    and its there physically.

also creatures that are neither fearful to get too close,
nor do so with hostile intent.

there are not too many things i would consider entirely out of place,
    unless they were completely unweathered,
as if they'd some how magically appeared there less then a day before.

there are a lot of things that make it obvious where humans have been,
that i'd rather wish they didn't leave behind.

if its anything i can use, ok, but too often its just garbage and trash.
containers that don't rot, with half eaten contents that have.

shopping carts are odd things to find more then 20 miles from the nearest store,
and of course car parts similarly far from any place there has ever been a road.

a television seen through a window inside an apartment inside the trunk of a tree
and on the tv is playing some kind of adventure action drama sitcom about a rogue investigator/spy,
and ALL the actors in it are non-humans. but more like james bond then a kids cartoon.
and not looking like animation at all, but like these are actual living people.

or a g-scale track and trains (45mm gauge, 1/2" to the foot scale), running by themselves,
    with no one appearantly around.

maybe mouse size actual living anthros running it.

a free buffette, on a steam table, with lots of different kinds of prepared foods, all delicious and healthy. and of course all sorts of people lined up for it, but a relitively short line at that.
and the people of course being from different worlds from each other, and quite obviously so from their appearance, all obviously sapient though.
