hi, just wondering how much money you think one would need to spend 6 weeks in india? the flight is expensive enough ( Eur 700) so im not sure i could afford to go. My standards are not very high in terms of living conditions and that. and i can live without food or possessions as long as i can get high. what do you think? also would it be possible to camp there? or would it be too hot? id realllly appreciate some feedback as i have no idea whether i can even get excited about the prospect of going to india for the summer!!
Dear Jenni, Everything depends where you want to go in India. I have spend four month there three years ago. I was working in Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh and life was not very expensive. You could eat for less than 1 euro for a day (of course if you eat in the street). I don't know for the other places. I have gone in Mumbay and life was more expensive but it wasn't too much. For camping, I think it is possible but be careful, especially if you are a girl. Some indians are really interested by "white girls". I have spend a very good time in India and indian people are very kind. If you have other question, I will answer. Peace Pollux
I'm heading in March and anyone I've spoken to said €10 a day would do you fine if you were staying in hostels and not looking for the lap of luxury. Where abouts are you going in India?
thinking of going to Goa. flying into mumbai and out of Delhi. dont really know much. all i know is that its going to be very hot, and my irish skin is not well suited to that kind of climate. do you think the weather will be so unbearable that i should consider not going?
I wouldn't let that stop ya, when I head over it'll be mid to high 30s, once you have very high factor sun cream your Irish skin will be fine, as I hope mine will be too!
