POTUS has no authority to use his office to coverup crimes.

I'm basing it being a clear violation of campaign finance laws on what I posted earlier from FEC.gov. It seems pretty cut and dry to me.
Asking a foreign government official to investigate a political opponent does not fall under "conducting diplomacy." Come on, you have to see how ridiculous that sounds

No, such matters are not at all "clear cut". I do not believe you have a case for a quid pro quo, at least based on the released transcript. You have a situation where Ukraine was conducting its own investigation until Biden managed to spike it- Trump was asking/pressuring Ukraine to complete it.

I doubt you could get a conviction in a court of law, which of course this would not go to as long as Trump is in office. Now Congress, with a bunch of rabid Trump-hating Democrats, you may well get the house to impeach, but the current Senate is unlikely to convict unless there is a forthcoming bombshell. But impeachment requires "high crimes and misdemeanors" and I think we are far from that situation.

Well, I am a retired career civil servant and the first year I was in USDA. We all went to a day long session on ethics and conflict of interest training. I would hope career military people had the same kind of experience. How can we expect our career federal people including military to serve in the public interest when the WH has violated ever possible level of ethics. and used their positions for personal and political gain. The WH is the swamp. I remember the last charge of our training...avoid even the appearance of of a conflict of interest. Trump’s sins are one of malfeasance, not some use of an insecure server.

Donald Duck has even forbidden anyone he put in office from appearing before congress. He could not be more flaming insane if he ran in circles all day long screaming off with their heads and, if he were not the president and a billionaire, the men in white coats would have carried him off long ago. There is most definitely a clause about impeaching a president for being flat out unfit for office. Already, people are publishing their professional opinions on the subject, and future generations will carefully dissect his madness to earn their Phds. Too bad Trump University went under, we could send them copies of them all for feedback.

Well I'd have to agree there is at very least the appearance of a conflict of interest. But I don't think that is impeachable. Based on what we know now, I think the American people should make their determination next year.

I assure you, military people get great deal of training about various ethical and legal matters. That is what so irritated me when someone here reference "thugs in the military" (or some similar slander).

Congress won't go there if they can help it, because they don't want the justice department giving them all prostate exams. They want to make him crack and convince him to resign voluntarily and, in return, he gets a free pass. Its part of the presidential golden parachute, where all the idiots who worked for him get prosecuted and he vanishes off the face of the mass media for at least a few years. They can claim he can't even testify in court because its a national security matter. I don't think they'll go for racketeering, when they can't even get Donald Duck into court.

He has two weeks to think it over, and for everyone to convince him to resign. You can forget about congress representing law and order. They're a good old boys club of fucking lawyers who serve the rich and famous.

Ditto on what srgreene said, you wouldnt get a conviction with the campaign financing laws. Asking isnt obtaining

And i think that is pretty clear cut. Nothing of value changed hands before the story broke

    Still flogging the Mueller thing.

Hacking DNC servers obtaining analytics, 12 russians trolling social media amongst the millions of partisan trolls. Neither of those things were ever going to mean more than negligable influence anyway

Exactly. I used to be a democrat way back before they became the villains. Nowadays they seem to truly uphold the backward idea that you're guilty until proven innocent, as we see them trying to pull on Trump as well as virtually the entire #metoo and "Believe all women!" movements. I mean, they actually believe political figured should be impeached because of unfounded, vague, evidence-less claims by people who have the opposite political views. Dare I say it.... but I cannot find any group more anti-American and deeply malicious as the left. They are the enemies of everything this country has ever stood for.

Our votes have been gerrymandered to death and the constitution shredded by both parties, while teachers everywhere insist that rigged votes and a shredded constitution are still worth dying for, if you can get a job with good pay. The majority has disapproved of Donald Duck's presidency ever since they elected him to oppose the same congress they elected, and the country could not be more deeply divided. Pray tell, what is left of the original American ideals?

Every study done by every major university, including Harvard, the most famous conservative bastion imaginable, has indicated our votes no longer matter. The Libertarian party is led by card carrying KKK members and Fundamentalists, while their own children have abandoned fundamentalist serves en mass, complaining their church has become a political stump. The entire white population of the US and EU, and the Japanese population as well, have been imploding faster than any on the planet for decades. They are living shorter lives, more miserable then ever, and reproducing less often, while US fundamentalists in particular have the worst social record of anyone in the developed world, including the worst rates of rape, abortion, child abuse, divorce, and suicide.

They are not coming out of the woodwork voluntarily, the CIA is hunting them down because they refuse to get involved, which is why they've only found two people so far, despite Donald Duck demanding virtually anyone he hires commit illegal acts for him. Fuck em, the last two biggest whistleblowers that told the public their own government was lying to them, ended up in prison for life. Don't tell the bastards a thing, your votes no longer matter, your constitution is shredded, and these assholes would sell their own mother down the river. Donald Duck has the power to literally torture and kill anyone he wants without so much as having to inform congress, and is insisting he has the right to face his accusers. Hence, the CIA is compelled to hunt these whistleblowers down in the name of National Security and is keeping their identities secret until they are ready to pounce.

You cannot save America, because it no longer exists. Donald Duck was elected by the same assholes who voted for Obama, and complain about taxes nonstop, rather than admitting the truth that they have sold themselves down the river. I had half a dozen people tell me that they voted for Donald Duck, never believing for one second that he would actually follow through on his campaign promises. Give it up people, you don't even know the meaning of democracy anymore, much less, responsible citizenship.

Demand your vote and constitution be restored, or tell them to go to hell. Voter turnout has always been the lowest in the developed world, and is continuing to drop. The only way to embarrass these lawyers is to make them beg for votes. Its an old American tradition, where rigging our elections is a national pastime. You have the right to remain silent, unless a judge tells you otherwise. They can put you in prison for refusing to testify against yourself. If its Homeland Security, may God have mercy on your soul, because they don't even have to tell anyone they have you and you don't have a right to a lawyer or a phone call. They waterboarded one guy over a hundred times, despite it being obvious he didn't know a damned thing. They weren't being sadistic, merely thorough Nazis, who would never have done it if he had serious money or connections.

Jesus is not coming to save you, there are no more good politicians, because nobody likes getting nailed to a fucking cross trying to save complete ingrates. Don't Feed The Fucking Animals! What the movie "A Few Good Men" doesn't tell you, is that the two teenagers the lawyer bullied into testifying in court, were shot and killed by a sniper a year after being dishonorably discharged.

  16. I'll believe it when I've seen it. So far I have seen a couple of years of nothing-burgers with extra mayo. I can only wonder what kind of stuff they might have discovered if they hadn't started with this impeachment shit right out of the gate. Used to be they'd let a new president hang himself after a year of doing very little. But this time the democrats weren't developing their tactics with an eye to the next race. Instead, they were motivated by "hate" because Trump called them a bunch of childish (but often fitting) names.

I can't fathom why anyone has faith in either party after watching Trump make fools of establishment cronies dug in like ticks. What will be funny is how many "whistleblowers" they can find for this. I'm inclined to think they will find more than there were people in the room! And most of them will offer only hearsay testimony that never sees daylight. If there was any real quality in this latest straw grab, Trump would already be in a cage.

It's time for democrats and leftists to admit he's not as "stupid" as they are taking for granted. Maybe then we'll see real politics instead of these coy little games.

They were motivated by the fact they knew Donald Duck was flatout insane, and knew he was elected against the wishes of his own party leaders. There was no point in impeaching a madman who doesn't even represent the republican party, unless you can make every Libertarian in the country look like a flaming madman, which he has succeeded in doing in spades. Democrats don't want just the next election, which they were guaranteed from the minute he got into office, they want to push the republicans out of the senate and house altogether if they can, and the voter outrage is already palpable.

Giuliani is the only tricky one in the bunch, and has more money than God, but they gave him enough rope it might be possible to hang the bastard once and for all. It'll be a few years before we get an accurate body count. An opportunity such as Donald Duck presents, only comes along once in a lifetime, and they were damned sure not going to waste it.

Nixon was sane enough to know he was a bad boy, and his crimes were chickenshit in comparison. Reagan, was the democrats first experience with professional actors like Donald Duck, and was wildly popular. You have to stop thinking of congress as giving a crap about the law, all they care about is the money.
