So I'm reading this without really going over the last couple pages for context, but Texas was part of the confederacy. Home to the last battle of the Civil War, even though everyone already knew Robert E Lee surrendered.
You know you are wasting your time. Arguing with a liberal is a complete waste of brain matter. Minds are made up...and you aren't changing them...no matter what evidence you present. BTW, I like the way you think! : )
It's a personality thing really, at first I thought he was just another arrogant wealthy person. But I'm also fairly certain he's a psychopath, so until I see him really tested, I can't commit entirely. I'm absolutely positive he'll weather all this childish bullshit the democrats are propping up in his path because I think he is leading them into it in an effort to prove how irrelevant most democrats are when it comes to taking care of the Americans themselves. The message I get from democrats is that I'm just another taxpayer to be mined for gold and if I complain, I must be a *-ist, *-phobe or a republican! Because democrats and leftists are never wrong. Get used to that.
Too general of a term to be using here. A lot of us are liberals socially and more pragmatic in how things actually work (like the massive con job that is the carbon industry). Most of the liberals I have met here since 2002 have not been rabid leftists (the few that are, are a real hoot).
My mistake. Texas was annexed 1844 and joined the Union in 1845 as a slaver state. In 1861 Sam Houston refused to pledge allegiance to the Confederate states and was pushed aside. Then, Texas did join the Confederacy. I got mixed up because I was reading about Fort Union in New Mexico. Several guys I know are always telling me Texas and Arizona were actually independent REPUBLICS and had their own currency, and claimed they could secede. I'm not fully informed on that part about being required to remain in the Union.
So just a disagreement on what to call them? Liberal vs leftist? Liberals of the 60s are not liberals of today...at least in my experience.
What makes you think he is a psychopath? Just maybe he is incredibly bright...and plays the media like no one else has before. Maybe he is the master marketer...and troller. Again, I look at results. The man has done everything he promised (that hasn't been blocked by Democrats). That doesn't seem to me to be the definition of a true psychopath.
So let's take them one at a time. Trump's golf course was a private estate when he bought it in 1985, not the 70's. Nothing was segregated about it. He wanted to open a private club. There was no requirement that the club be segregated. Trump didn't like the zoning conditions and claimed the restrictions were stiffer than restrictions on other private clubs that restricted blacks and Jews. The zoning concerns addressed traffic and noise on the streets. Again there was requirement to restrict blacks or Jews at his club imposed by the city council. So we have a typical Trump tactic of claiming there is a problem only he can fix, when no problem actually existed in the first place. And then he claims victory. The First Step Act made some minor changes to Federal prisons, none to any others. The only report that Trump put up Jennifer Hudson for free comes from the mouth of Trump in an interview with People magazine. there are no sources that I know of, and we know Trump never lies. Even if true, Hudsen is a celebrity, not a typical person such as the ones he refused to rent to. Ben Carson may be a fine surgeon, but otherwise he's an idiot. He eliminated Community Development Block Grants and cut HUD by $6.2 billion, he involved his son, wife, and daughter in law in government business, he confused REO (Real Estate Owned) with an OREO cookie, spent $31,000 of tax payer money on a dining room set for his office and demoted the woman who told him he wasn't allowed to do that. He warned that "big, hairy men" might infiltrate homeless shelters for women, and he believes that the united States will play a big role in the apocalypse. ....And he doesn't believe in any form of evolution. Unemployment rates are not bad although black unemployment has been higher. Trump wanted to ban Muslims from legally entering the country, and he wanted to stop admitting many refugees, so your claim that he has no problem with legal immigration is wrong. ...and finally you never researched what I posted yet you claim they're rumors.
I think that only time some people will become acceptive and even appreciate other people's way of thinking or belief is when their own children grow up with their own way of thinking and opinions. Then they might start to acknowledge.
That's a classic Texas myth. I heard that dozens of times growing up. Not a bit of truth to it, but I bet my grandchildren will hear it.
It's a shakedown for cash and prizes. How does a wealthy western nation reduce their "carbon footprint"? By packing up all the polluting factories and equipment for China and India. Where the emissions standards are practically non-existent. The biosphere is still being polluted, and at an even greater rate than before. But I still have to drive with a muzzle on my engine while those parts of the world power vehicles with anything that burns. I'm sure there's a place to call me a racist in there somewhere.
