This may seem a tad off subject, but I was wondering whether any of you collect things and keep them for future projects. I know how difficult it can be when people give us a hard time about collecting, and not really "doing anything" with the scraps, and wood, beads, glass, etc. Many people seem to enjoy making things when with a group of other like-minded souls. And some of us have to work alone, because we need to concentrate. I have every intention of using all of the goodies I have saved, but I think sharing the act of creativity is the best part. Our ancestors had to make things. They learned skills, and bartered, and recycled. We need to have recycling contests. I remember people using pop tops to make things, and gum wrappers were made into long paper curtain doorway hangers. We were weaving plastic bags to make things, too. I admire people who have a knack for knowing what to do with "junque." I find myself wondering "Why didn't I think of that ?" I am currently hoarding the following : Buttons, old records, sunglasses, colored glass, broken crockery (if pretty) colored wine bottles, Mason Jars, Bright candy wrappers, coasters from restaurants, and bars (make mobile?) old silverware (wind chimes) colored netting...colored cellophane....transparent plastic dishes...old aprons...(they make cute curtains for a small window) old lamp shades (cover them with fabric) old weathered wood, and old postcards, and magazines from pre 1970. If I were a millionaire, I would still scavenge, and hoard things...but not to the point of creating a nuisance and health hazard.

I most definately do.... I've about a dozen shoeboxes in the basement of somewhat-organized crafty things... I've only been using small amounts at a time, but I'm such the pack rat when it comes to crafts...
