I do care for my country but I care for people more, and that's why I vote Democrat. Yes there's corruption in the Democrat party but less so than in the Republican party, and the Democrats represent the common people better. And caring for my country and for people are two reasons I oppose Trump!

 

Because they think it is their best chance of being reelected. There is no other reason.

Holly this is a bold statement and I appreciate it coming from you as a female. I work in healthcare and I am a male. I am sometimes terrified to do my job and be accused of something inappropriate, then be immediately guilty. Forced to win back and prove my innocence. I also work by protocol and always have a chaperone for nearly everything. I can't risk anything.
I am a fearce advocate against violence towards women and minority groups. I love my job and I am honest and trustworthy. That being said I feel like as a white male, I am targeted for suspicion, in this political climate.

 

Holly seems to be conflating two things: #MeTooism and the case against Trump. There is plenty of evidence for a prima facie case against Trump--his own memo and a number of credible witnesses. But I agree, there is a present climate that supports accusations of sexual impropriety without sufficient evidence. Have you been accused specifically, or are you just feeling vulnerable?
Holly's post goes back aways. If you put it in context with her other ones, it's apparent that, whatever claims to having once been a Democrat, she's a True Believer MAGA Trump booster now. I think conflating impeachment with wrongful allegations of sexual misconduct is another red herring in her propaganda arsenal.

 

America's justice system is really whacky.
That is if you compare it to Australia's Justice system.
I'm not saying australia has less of a problem with crime but if we put innocent people into jail without them going to court first our country would be fucked up.
I think that the American president should be concentrating on fixing that one up just so that people who are accused of crimes don't need to be held in prison.

 

The White House has announced it will not take part in the Judiciary Committee hearings, but I get the feeling they might change their minds at some point.

 

So America doesn't have the best policy in that bail is usually a financial thing, but in general people who haven't been convicted yet can be released on bail, as long as their not a flight risk or a danger to the community.
