Trump's shadow, deep-state operative, Giuliani, continues to pursue his conspiracy narrative.

Trump lawyer Giuliani travels to Europe to meet ex-Ukraine prosecutors as House moves toward impeachment, report says

    excerpt:

"President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani met in Europe this week with a former Ukrainian prosecutor and other officials, even as a House committee pushed forward an impeachment inquiry focused on Trump and Giuliani’s pressuring of Ukraine, a new report said.

Giuliani met Tuesday with a former Ukrainian prosecutor, Yuriy Lutsenko, in Budapest, The New York Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

On Wednesday, Giuliani traveled to Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, hoping to meet with other ex-Ukrainian prosecutors, including Viktor Shokin and Kostiantyn Kulyk, The New York Times reported.

Giuliani reportedly is also helping right-wing news network One America News produce episodes of a documentary series promoting his arguments against Democrats’ impeachment inquiry in the House."

The low-budget One America News has become Trump's new darling. It's more fringe than Fox News.

The Grinch is back to steal Christmas again, like the Grinch in the cartoon who stole the children's candy canes and gifts.

Like Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (the Grinch) did in the 1990's at Christmas time, Trump last year at this holdiay time shut down the government because Congress wouldn't give him billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars for his border wall, the one he would later go on to fund with diverted taxpayer military money after declaring a 'national emergency'.

    Merry Christmas!

The Trump administration plays the perfect Grinch with its new food stamp rule

"There is a horrible irony in taking food from the tables of hungry Americans during the holidays, but that’s the latest act of cartoonish villainy by the Trump administration.

It could be, perhaps, that their shoes were too tight or that their heads weren’t screwed on just right, but this week, the Agriculture Department played the part of the Grinch, finalizing a rule to cut billions of dollars from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps. The rule will remove nearly 700,000 from the program and jeopardize the food security of hundreds of thousands more, representing a callous escalation of the Trump administration’s war on people in need."

Anyone who lost their food and other necessities due to Trump can take solace in knowing that he restored their freedom to say Merry Christmas!

Well I guess if Michael Gerhardt says so the debate is over. How about we let the voters decide?

Dude, none of it is fucking real. Your governments dont have as much control over the economy as most want to believe.

One guy, even the President doesnt have much control over all the legislation that passes each year. Especially in your country where you have a mess of different state and local laws

Trump gets ousted, to be replaced by what? A democrat that publically tells everyone what they want to hear but ends up doing the same shit or worse

Because he was using the power of the state to investigate his political opponent, subverting our democracy.

Trump just appointed Robert Marbut to lead the US government agency which handles Homelessness matters. Mister Marbut is known for telling many municipalities and charities to stop feeding homeless persons. This comes after Trump decided to take 750,000 people off food stamps. And he already decided school children don't deserve school lunch.

Trump's tweeted that he is restoring tariffs on Argentine and Brazil. Those two countries voluntarily agreed to export quotas of steel and aluminum to the U.S. in return for receving an exemption from Trump's tariffs when he started his trade war. Even with their cooperation, Trump has now changed his mind and is starting up another war with them, this time because they supposedly manipulate their currency.

Trump's accusation of currency manipulation by those two countries makes even less sense considering their currencies have already dropped significantly.

Also nonsensical is Trump's claim that Argentina and Brazil are hurting U.S. farmers. The U.S. steel and aluminum industries need the steel and aluminum raw material to make finished products, such as tractors and silos for the U.S. farms.

In the name of trying to protect the U.S. steel and aluminum industries, Trump will likely further damage the U.S. farmers by starting another trade war front with Argentina and Brazil.

Trump has a high propensity to capriciously throw monkey wrenches into the gearbox of the global trade network.

Trump's weird tariff move has just shown why Australia is vulnerable

    https://www.smh.com.au/business/mar...-australia-is-vulnerable-20191203-p53gbs.html

    excerpt:

"The Tariff Man has struck again, this time blindsiding and unnerving allies and markets with "Trumped-up" accusations of currency manipulation.

In yet another of his market-shaking tweets on Monday, Donald Trump announced he would "restore" tariffs on Brazilian and Argentinian steel and aluminium exports to the US.

"Brazil and Argentina have been presiding over a massive devaluation of their currencies, which is not good for our farmers. Therefore, effective immediately, I will restore the tariffs on all steel and aluminium that is shipped into the US from those countries," he tweeted.

In fact neither Brazil nor Argentina have been subjected to the tariffs that Trump imposed, on "national security" grounds, on a range of countries including close allies such as Canada, in March last year. Instead they agreed to quotas that limited their exports to the US.

It is equally the case that neither of the two biggest economies in South America has been manipulating their exchange rates to gain a competitive advantage.

If anything they have tried, albeit unsuccessfully, to support the values of the Brazilian real and Argentinian peso. The value of the real has fallen almost 10 per cent against the US dollar this year, while the peso has collapsed, plunging nearly 40 per cent.

It may be that Trump is upset that countries like Argentina and Brazil are economically responding to the trade war he started. Trump damaged the U.S. soy market by causing Chinese retaliatory tariffs which caused a soy surplus in the U.S. which depressed sales prices for U.S. farmers. Other countries such as Argentina and Brazil are expected to take up the slack and increase domestic production of soy and exports to China, exports that the U.S. once enjoyed until Trump started his trade war..
