I heard on NPR's "Fresh Air" program an interview with Mr. Chong. Evidently he was arrested for supporting his son's glass bong business. His sons company manufactures the famous "Tommy Chong" glass bongs which are found in head shops all over America. Mr. Chong served nine months in the can after being charged with distribution of drug paraphenalia. Suposedly you can be charged with possession of drug paraphenalia if a bong is found on your person as well. It was my understanding that if there was no cannibus residue found on or inside the bong it could not be classified as drug paraphenalia. Could someone please explain it to me like I was a two year old why was Mr. Chong charged with this crime! Anything you would like to add?
He owns a bong comapny and his son runs it for him. The cops ordered a bong to be sent to pennsylvania where it is illegal to have glass paraphenelia. The person who filled the order was not paying attentiona and sent the bong out. basically thats entrapment but the worker sent it out wihtout checking the destination so it flows. The police knocked on tommy chongs door and told him they had a warrant for his arrest (not a search warrant an arrest warrant) and the DA told him He could spend a short time in jail OR they would prsecute his son(who runs the company) so he did the time for his son. When the police at his door asked him if he had weed he said OF COURSE IM TOMMY CHONG they searched but didnt find any and he joked with leno about how good he hid his stash.
Thanks Jay. My respect for Tommy Chong just went up tenfold. i did not know that about his situation, just that he was arrested for selling bongs.

Tommy Chong is coming to vancouver to his First show since being out of Jail!!! i'm goin for sure, 2 shows coming up next month, it's awsome he picked vancouver as his first tour date
