Latley I've been having some skin problems, and the medication im taking for it really isn't working as well as id like it to. I was hoping some of you could reccommend to me foods or methods that have worked for you, that do an awesome job of making the skin glow all radiant and such.

    peace!:)

drink alot of water... about 8 glasses a day I think it is. For awhile I drank a gallon a day. Keep your skin well hydrated and it should clear up. What else are you doing for it? Do you wear make-up? Maybe try not wearing it until your skin heals up and stays healed for a couple weeks. The makeup may be irating it. I had bad skin in high school and I finally figured out that my makeup seemed to not be helping!

I had bad acne and then stopped drinking cow milk for 2weeks. Cleared right up. Now I only drink ogrganic. You have to give up all dairy/meat products. Go soy. It was all of the antibiotics and crap they pump in the cows. Andd yeah the water will help alot.

Hi there! I agree with everyone's recommendation of drinking more water. I drink at least 6-8 glasses a day. I noticed that this has helped me a lot. I do caution you to not be over-zealous with the water though (I'm talking more than 16) , as it could put you at risk for water toxicity (yes, there is such a thing; it's called hyponatremic encephalopathy).

Anyway, I'm assuming that your skin problems are acne related. Acne is caused by bacteria (as I'm sure you know). I can't emphasize enough the importance of handwashing. You don't need antibacterial hand soap; regular soap does the trick just fine. I know this sounds completely anal but most of the times that we humans fall ill is because of bacteria that we touch with our hands and then transfered to other places on our bodies, specifically orifices. (incidently, I took a Clinical Microbiology class and I saw this first hand in our labs). Think about it...if you touch a blemish on your cheek and then transfer that bacteria to your chin...guess what?...more blemishes.

Stress can also exacerbate acne by wreaking havoc on your immune system, so don't forget to take time and relax!!! If you wear makeup you might want to take a break from it and wash your face with mild cleansers that are pH balanced 'cause some cleansers can be too harsh and dry out your skin. There are tons of good herbal cleansers; Aubrey makes a good one. Also, make sure you're getting all of your vitamins as they (especially vitamin E which can also be applied topically) help to repair your skin.

Well, these are things that have helped me. Good luck to you!

I've found this water thing has been working awesome for me, I've held off the milk and am using a really mild cleanser...:) it's gonna be a process, but it's getting there.
All this awesome weather too, im in the sun quite a bit..and in my opinion...sun for stress, skin and all things survival. Even though they say...to stay out of the sun SCREW EM..it's where the happiness lies.

    few little tips:

aparently drinking a glass of water with half a lemon of juice in it, before you go to bed and first thing when you wake up is really good because it cleanses out your system.

also berries like rasberries, blueberries etc are meant to be good.

lime juice is also supposed to help and drink lots of herbal tea.

stay completly away from processed foods.

alcohol is a bitch for your skin, so think about that too

excersise obviously, sweating is real good

get a bowl of steaming water and put a towel over your head and let your face all drip from the steam then just wash your face with cold water after

use a petrochemical-free moisturiser (from health food shops)

in the end like they say, you are what you eat!
