Good point, Bumpkin. I have been talking with Republicans for at least 50 years and only changed the opinion of a few. People who attend a university are willing to learn. People who hang out at the local transmission shop are not.

Someone who thinks that the opinion of a college attendee is more important than that of an auto mechanic doesn’t understand what this country is all about.

Trump to drop $10 million on Super Bowl ad

    excerpt:

"With the investment, the Trump campaign is dipping into a deep war chest it has amassed over the last year. The reelection effort and the Republican National Committee announced last week that they raised a combined $463 million in 2019 and had nearly $200 million on hand.

The Super Bowl advertising, coming a day before the Iowa Democratic caucuses, is part of a broader spending effort. Starting this month, campaign aides say they intend to increase their TV, radio, and digital advertising.

They have also approved plans to spend millions of dollars on outreach to key voting blocs including women, evangelicals, Latinos, and African Americans. Trump campaign recently launched an aggressive effort to woo black voters, taking out ads on African American-owned radio and newspapers."

Trump changed his mind again in a wind vane fashion. Now he's demanding money from Iraq before he will permit U.S. troops to leave Iraq.

Similarly, after saying in 2016 that he would gladly release his tax returns, he changed his mind and said it was contingent on Hillary releasing deleted emails that she has no way of obtaining that, according to Trump, are on a computer server owned by a wealthy Ukrainian in Ukraine that Trump thinks he will obtain, for his personal political gain, through his shadow-government agent and personal attorney, Giuliani, by witholding U.S. taxpayer money for Ukraine to coerce the president of Ukraine to embark on a mission to find and release her emails and make a public statement about it to the world.

Someone who thinks that the opinion of any person is more important than that of any other person doesn't understand what this country is all about. But, I'm a college attendee so my opinion doesn't matter...

Trump essentially impeached himself with the help of his conspiracy-truther sources such as Breitbart and Fox that sowed the seeds of the misinformation that he believes and pursues in an impeachable fashion.

McConnell has the GOP votes for Trump's trial now. That doesn't mean he'll have them later.
A handful of Senate Republicans, who McConnell needs on his side, are being watched for signs they may vote with Democrats to call witnesses.

McConnell has the GOP votes for Trump's trial now. That doesn't mean he'll have them later.

    excerpt:

"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Tuesday he has enough Republican votes to start the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump without the support of Democrats, who have been demanding witness testimony.

But his announcement doesn't settle the contentious issue of whether witnesses will be allowed to testify during the Senate trial — which Democrats have called for. Rather, it postpones a vote on the issue — leaving open the possibility that a handful of Senate Republicans could break with the party and back Democratic efforts to call witnesses against the president."

That's true, but if I want to discuss plate tectonics, I'd rather do it with a guy who has a degree in Geoscience.
    btw, BA, Geoscience, 1977

Evidently you never attended college, or dropped out before finishing the logic class. You're confusing two different things: the democratic process of elections, in which everybody's vote counts the same; and the realm of knowledge, in which, ceteris paribus, the opinion of an educated person is generally worth more than that of an uneducated person--depending, of course, on what the education is in and the native intelligence of the two people concerned. The important considerations are native intelligence and information level, which don't necessarily depend on formal education, but it helps! Lack of education may actually be an advantage in winning elections (look at Trump's supporters), but when it comes to dealing with complex issues of international politics in the nuclear age, it's a distinct disadvantage.

In fact, lack of a college education still seems to be the best single predictor of support for Trump, who famously said "I love the poorly educated voters".https://www.usatoday.com/story
    And apparently, they love him!

So you think he'll narrowly win an electoral victory and die in 2024, or the same but he'll be impeached again in the year 2024?

    Both seem possible.

I did not say auto mechanic. I said "Hangout" because every shop in the country has HANGOUTS who just hang out and tell each other N-word jokes and Mex-jokes and Camel Rider jokes. You must be a Republican Lawyer … with poor reading skills.

the 'rats ( politicians , movie stars , talking heads , college kids , ) are having a meltdown about the death of Iran's terrorist general . this guy has been at this crap for twenty years now . it was time to get rid of him . but these lefties are losing their minds , they seem to care about Iran more than they do about their own country . where is the patriotism ? do they care what happens to their home turf ? it's time to take a look and decide where your loyalties are .
