Blogger post of intro to Trump at State of the Union Address: "Small, petty, vindictive, un-Christian, serial adulterer, porn star fornicator, fraudster, corrupt to the bone, faked bone spurs to get out of active duty yet disparages war heroes and Gold Star families, invites foreign governments to interfere in our elections, lost the most money over a decade in history, lied and insulted his way to the highest office in the land, continues to be a Demagogue and divide our beloved country. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the President* of the United States of America."
DOJ announces reversal in Roger Stone sentencing recommendation after Trump tweet ALI DUKAKIS and ALEXANDER MALLIN ABC News February 11, 2020, 2:05 PM EST DOJ announces reversal in Roger Stone sentencing recommendation after Trump tweet excerpt: "The Department of Justice will reverse course Tuesday on its sentencing recommendation for President Donald Trump's longtime friend and former campaign adviser Roger Stone, a senior DOJ official said, only hours after Trump himself reacted to the recommendation by calling it a "miscarriage of justice." Federal prosecutors told a federal judge on Monday that Stone should be sentenced to serve seven to nine years in prison after jurors found him guilty last November on all seven counts brought against him by former special counsel Robert Mueller as part of his investigation into Russian election interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. The charges, brought against Stone in January 2019, included five counts of lying to Congress, one count each of witness tampering and obstruction of a proceeding."
Second prosecutor quits Roger Stone case after sentencing reversal By John Kruzel 02/11/20 04:11 PM EST Second prosecutor quits Roger Stone case after sentencing reversal excerpt: "A second Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutor who recommended Roger Stone be sentenced to seven to nine years in prison left the case Tuesday after reports that officials would seek to reduce the sentencing request. In a one-sentence filing to the court, lawyer Jonathan Kravis announced his resignation as an assistant U.S. attorney and therefore no longer represents the government in the case. Kravis's announcement came shortly after a similar withdrawal by prosecutor Aaron Zelinsky. Zelinsky declined to comment to The Hill. Both Kravis and Zelinsky were involved in providing the initial sentencing guidance. In a stunning development, multiple outlets reported earlier Tuesday that the DOJ would seek to change their sentencing recommendations because top officials found them to be "excessive.""

Total misrepresentation to include this " as part of his investigation into Russian election interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election" Stone was charged with lying about getting his hands on the Wikileaks stuff
I am glad to see that these guys have the balls to stand up to these assholes. Zelinsky? Now where have I heard that name before?
All four Roger Stone prosecutors resign from case after DOJ backpedals on sentencing recommendation Trump tweeted early Tuesday, calling the initial sentencing recommendation "disgraceful" and a "miscarriage of justice." By Dartunorro Clark, Michael Kosnar, Dareh Gregorian and Tom Winter Feb. 11, 2020, 6:06 PM UTC Updated Feb. 11, 2020, 10:50 PM UTC All four Roger Stone prosecutors resign from case after DOJ backpedals on sentencing recommendation excerpt: "Zelinsky, who was a part of former special counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating Russian election interference, is not resigning from the Justice Department but is leaving the Washington, D.C., U.S. Attorney’s Office and returning to his old job with the U.S. Attorney in Maryland. Another one of the prosecutors, Jonathan Kravis, also resigned — both from the case and his job as an assistant U.S. attorney. Kravis on Tuesday filed a notice with the judge saying he "no longer represents the government in this matter." The other two prosecutors, Adam Jed and Michael Marando, also withdrew from the case.""
Boo hoo. Wait until the prez pardons Stone. The case should’ve been dismissed due to the outrageous way he was arrested.
so you have no problem dismissing cases against latinos, and blacks, given the outrageous way they are arrested. Good for you. . . .
Some Experts Worry as a Germ-Phobic Trump Confronts a Growing Epidemic Michael Crowley The New York Times February 11, 2020, 8:09 AM EST Some Experts Worry as a Germ-Phobic Trump Confronts a Growing Epidemic excerpt: "Trump, who has spoken openly about his phobia of germs, closely followed the epidemic, and offered angry commentary about what he said was the Obama administration’s dangerous response. He demanded draconian measures like canceling flights, forcing quarantines and even denying the return of American medical workers who had contracted the disease in Africa. “Ebola patient will be brought to the U.S. in a few days — now I know for sure that our leaders are incompetent. KEEP THEM OUT OF HERE!” Trump tweeted on that July 31 after learning that one American medical worker would be evacuated to Atlanta from Liberia. “The U.S. cannot allow EBOLA infected people back,” Trump wrote the next day, adding: “People that go to far away places to help out are great — but must suffer the consequences!” In nearly 50 tweets, as well as in appearances on Fox News and other networks, Trump supported flight bans and strict quarantines and branded President Barack Obama’s deployment of troops to West Africa to fight the disease as “morally unfair.” Many health experts called Trump’s responses extreme, noting that the health workers would have most likely faced agonizing deaths had they not been evacuated to American hospitals. Former Obama administration officials said his commentary stoked alarmism in the news media and spread fear among the public."
Once again Trump astounds us by demonstrating his knowledge of U.S. history & geography. In New Hampshire, he went on and on about the city of Concord and how impressed he was with it. At his rally yesterday, he crowed: "Concord, I love Concord. I love Concord, oh Concord. You know how famous Concord is. Concord that's the same Concord that we read about all the time, right. Concord. I love Concord!" he. But that was Concord, Mass., not Concord, N.H. This on the heels of his Superbowl gaffe congratulating Kansas for it victory! The guy's an embarrassment! Trump's poor geography strikes again: President praises 'famous Concord down the road' in NH | Daily Mail Online Which Concord? Trump appears to mix up geography at campaign rally - KRDO
Trump doesn't know the home state of the Chiefs football team. He doesn't know here a hurricane is heading, which is easily discerned using current charts that he didn't bother to observe while on vacation at one of his resorts. His 4th of July speech was a word salad of fractured history tales. Trump said his border wall was being built in Colorado. He probably doesn't know much about Concord, MA.
The Trump administration has withdrawn Liu's nomination for Treasury Department under secretary on the same day that four prosecutors of the Stone case quit. She oversaw the Stone prosection and worked on the sentencing of Rick Gates. She was replaced with Shea.who is a close advisor to Barr. The Justice Department is being remodeled in the crony and nepotist image of Trump. Barr takes control of legal matters of interest to Trump, including Stone sentencing Attorney General William Barr's intervention in Roger Stone's case wasn't the first time senior political appointees reached into a case involving an ex-Trump aide, officials say. By Carol E. Lee, Ken Dilanian and Peter Alexander Feb. 12, 2020, 12:55 AM UTC Barr takes control of cases that interest Trump, like Stone sentence excerpts: "This signals to me that there has been a political infestation," NBC News legal analyst Chuck Rosenberg, a former U.S. attorney in Virginia, said on MSNBC. "And that is the single most dangerous thing that you can do to the Department of Justice." In the Stone case, a new filing Tuesday says the previous recommendation "does not accurately reflect the Department of Justice's position on what would be a reasonable sentence in this matter." A nine-year sentence "could be considered excessive and unwarranted under the circumstances," the filing says, declining to recommend a specific term and instead asking the judge to consider an "appropriate" sentence. "I've never seen this happen, ever," said Gregory Brower, a former U.S. attorney for Nevada and senior FBI official. "I'd be shocked if the judge didn't order the U.S. attorney to come into court to explain it." Barr named Timothy Shea as interim U.S. attorney for Washington on Jan. 30. His announcement noted that it's the largest U.S. attorney's office in the country and highlighted Shea's "reputation as a fair prosecutor." It didn't mention that Liu had been unceremoniously pushed out. Liu had been picked for a job in the Treasury Department, and normally she would have remained as U.S. attorney until the Senate voted on her nomination, current and former officials said. Trump has now rescinded her nomination to be undersecretary for terrorism and financial crimes." "David Laufman, a former counterintelligence chief for the Justice Department, on Twitter called it "a shocking, cram-down political intervention in the criminal justice process. We are now truly at a break-glass-in-case-of-fire moment for the Justice Dept.""
Like senators Collins and Ernst, Lamar Alexander thinks Trump learned his lesson. Republicans say Trump has learned his lesson on impeachment. The evidence suggests otherwise. Aaron Blake 2/3/2020 Republicans say Trump has learned his lesson on impeachment. The evidence suggests otherwise. excerpt: "He was asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” whether Trump might see his upcoming acquittal, though, as an exoneration and a license to do it all again. “I don’t think so,” Alexander said. “I hope not. I mean, enduring an impeachment is something that nobody should like, even the president said he didn’t want that on his résumé. I don’t blame him. So if a call like that gets you an impeachment, I would think you would think twice before you did it again.” Then host Chuck Todd asked a fair question: “What example in the life of Donald Trump has [shown that] he [has] been chastened?” Alexander conceded after a beat, “I haven’t studied his life that close.” But you don’t need to read a Trump biography to see the potential folly of such a prediction; you only need to look at the timeline of the Russia investigation and how it bled into the Ukraine scandal."
Yup, now Trump and Barr know they can do any criminal act they want and no one can do anything about it because McConnell will protect them.
In just one day 50,000 Americans have signed a petition for an investigation into William Barr's attack on the Four Federal Prosecutors who were forced to resign or withdraw from their job on the Roger Stone case. Within hours of Trump's Twitter snit about the un-fairness of Stone's case, William Barr ordered the reversal of Stone's 9 year sentence for crimes he was convicted of by a jury. After that, Trump claimed he had not interfered, and the DOJ issued a like statement. Ask your self: If there had not been any heavy handed interference in the case, why did it not continue as managed by four of the nation's top prosecutors? Why did all four of these top prosecutors withdraw? Like Jeffery Epstein, Roger Stone was fond of making sex videos of his own sexual adventures. Can we now see these to confirm our suspicions about close friends of Roger?
Trump is having diarrhea of the Twitter. He just praised William Barr for taking charge of the Roger Stone case and is now claiming that Bob Mueller lied to Congress and that the Mueller investigation was all wrong and illegal from the start. He made no mention of all the stonewalling of Congress by his own office. He made no mention of all the times he blocked witnesses and refused subpoenas. He made no mention of William Barr withholding Kushner's interview documents. He made no mention of William Barr's blocking of Bob Mueller from continuing work in the Deutsche Bank case, and that other bank which had been ordered to pay $50,000.00 per day for refusing to comply with Bob Mueller's subpoena. Now the method used in this crime against the United States has become obvious. Barr blocks investigations, then Barr issues a four page public statement which claims nothing happened … no collusion … no Sir … not on your life. And if you doubt any of that, just go and try to get an answer from any witness who was not allowed to testify before Congress.
Trump will likely veto a war powers resolution that has suffient votes to pass the Senate that was precipitaed by his assassination of Iranian officials on Iraqi soil. Senate to rein in Trump's war powers after Iran strike “The last thing this country should do is rush into or blunder into another war in the Middle East," says Tim Kaine. By ANDREW DESIDERIO and MARIANNE LEVINE 02/12/2020 04:30 AM EST Senate to rein in Trump's war powers after Iran strike excerpt: "The Senate is set to pass a bipartisan resolution this week to limit President Donald Trump’s authority to launch military operations against Iran weeks after the U.S. killed a top Iranian general. The War Powers resolution, introduced by Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), will come to the floor Wednesday with a final expected vote Thursday. While the measure is not likely to garner enough support to overturn a likely Trump veto, its expected passage in the Senate nevertheless illustrates a rare congressional effort to rein in the president’s executive authority."
