The Town was based loosely on fact. The Charlestown neighborhood was the focal point for a number of gangs responsible for dozens of Bank robberies, armored car heists, and jewelry store thefts throughout the greater Boston area.
I watched it yesterday and have to say that I also thought that it was outstanding and the subtitles were not at all ofputting.
I’ve seen too many Chinese Martial Arts films, Korean, and Japanese movies over the years to be intimidated by sub-titles
Boy did this suck. One of the most depressing movies I've ever seen. It wasn't about Fred Rogers, it was about some looney from New York city. He talks to Fred every now and again while he acts like a depressed idiot. And Tom Hanks was the wrong choice for Fred Rogers.
Wait wait wait WHAT I am shook by this review. SHOOK! I've been so excited to see this and was so sure Tom Hanks would be perfection
I cannot stand when a movie's focus seems to be on some character's inability to cope or something. It's always a bummer for me when that happens. Or when I can see them trying to portray someone's alcoholism, but they don't do a very good job.
It did get good reviews from others. This movie was MUCH better. My brother worked on the trolley for Fred Rogers for awhile. All I can remember him saying is that Lady Aberlin smoked like a chimney when the cameras were off.
Robin Hood Prince of Thieves It was interesting... the movie took me back to my childhood to a time before I cared or thought about whether anything were "cool" or hip as it were. A time when I was more innocent I guess. Anyway. Good to watch this one!
Loved that movie as a kid. Loved everything Robin Hood as a kid: a tv series, the disney movie, this one. I even made my own bow and arrows and such hiding places in the woods with friends :-D
