Yah, sorry I'm just posting individual songs. This thread isn't even 2 hours old and it already has like A day and a half worth of music. Ain't nobody got time for that.
I like the concept though because there's so many good gaming soundtracks that have inspired me through life and growing up and now I can just see them all in one thread.
I like the concept of video game music, it's just daunting to check stuff out when whole soundtracks are posted. Not my thread, so you do you, just saying.
Well, I have no idea how to post Youtube videos here. I will tell you one of my LEAST favorite. I just recently started playing Fallout 76 and it has these radio stations you can listen to if you want and they play this OLD OLD damn 40's kind of music and it just makes it even creepier...and trust me it gets damn creepy.....real weird.
Bring Me The Horizon met with Hideo Kojima! Never knew that. I knew their song was Shadow Moses but I didn't put the two together. XD Also made a song for Death Stranding
fallout 3 had the best radio stations, they fit perfectly into the setting and mood of the game. there's something special about wandering through the DC ruins listening to patriotic music. i know this thread has mostly been songs written specifically for video games, but i also want to give a shout out to the entire gta series. with a couple exceptions, they used actual commercially released music, but they all did so in a way that really helped set the mood for each city and story. the tony hawk series was good for that too. and to include some actual music, i think this is still my favorite level background song ever:
the wild arms series was a bunch of relatively average JRPGs back in the 90s, but they had music that sucked me right in and still makes me go back and play the games from time to time even now.
I don't know how many of you have played The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time (yeah, old school...I know, I know) but it was one of my favorites. Anyway, in version 1.0 the music for the Fire Temple was different than the music for subsequent versions. The chanting part supposedly was saying, "In the name of Allah the most merciful and beneficent," and some people (again, supposedly) were offended. (The original is way cooler, imo.) If you're curious you can hear both versions in this YouTube video.
