Who said they're lying? I think Scratcho is talking about the essence of the country, the principles for which some have and are willing to give their lives: the proposition that all are created equal and endowed with inalienable rights, with liberty & justice for all, etc. Some of us still take those ideals seriously, respect our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and would hate to lose them or see them further eroded by Trump.
Unfortunately, the erosion of democratic values in this country since the election of Trump has been quite dramatic, so formation of such a party would fail to capture the enormity of political reality.
Trump: Botched Coronavirus Response Is Obama’s Fault By Jonathan Chait March 4, 2020 Trump: Botched Coronavirus Response Is Obama’s Fault excerpts: "In the world of Trumpian propaganda, any news event falls into one of three categories. The first, and most common, is We Are Winning. (Common examples: the stock market, economy, any diplomatic agreement or use of military force). If the event is undeniably negative, it is a Hoax, being perpetrated upon him by some combination of the Crooked Media, Deep State, or Do-Nothing Democrats. Trump has attempted to wedge the novel coronavirus into both these frames, alternately assuring the public he has brilliantly contained the disease and complaining that his enemies are using the Hoax to discredit him. But when neither of these approaches fully resolves the problem, Trump resorts to the third category: Obama’s Fault." "At his same remarks, Trump boasted, “I haven’t touched my face in weeks.” He seemed not to realize that he has appeared on camera many times during that period, sometimes touching his face:"
Face touching: a frequent habit that has implications for hand hygiene Am J Infect Control. 2015 Feb;43(2):112-4. doi: 10.1016/j.ajic.2014.10.015.. Kwok YL1, Gralton J1, McLaws ML2. Face touching: a frequent habit that has implications for hand hygiene. - PubMed - NCBI excerpt: "On average, each of the 26 observed students touched their face 23 times per hour. Of all face touches, 44% (1,024/2,346) involved contact with a mucous membrane, whereas 56% (1,322/2,346) of contacts involved nonmucosal areas. Of mucous membrane touches observed, 36% (372) involved the mouth, 31% (318) involved the nose, 27% (273) involved the eyes, and 6% (61) were a combination of these regions."
‘A clear and present danger’ ‘An existential threat’ ‘The end of democracy ‘ Over dramatic indeed. The president sometimes speaks in hyperbole but he’s able to carry it off somehow. His detractors, not so much. But I think they’re not interested in convincing anybody of anything as much as they’re virtue signaling to each other.
Egger posts facts and backs what he says. All his posts are academic. All yours are insults with little intellectual value. In plain English: I think you bull shit most of the time.
"According to the New York Times, Trump was referring to a regulation that limited the ability of laboratories run by states, universities and private companies to conduct screenings not approved by the FDA. Now, those labs are allowed to use tests they independently developed. “It’s really very, very important,” CDC director Robert Redfield said at the White House event. “It’s what’s changed the availability of testing overnight.” He's just paroting the CDC director So yawn
Trump and Pompeeon just announced that America would shield US Troops from any investigations by the world bodies, meaning the International Criminal Court and The International War Crimes Tribunal. US Troops have for some time been going around and killing innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan. And Trump has issued pardons to them. Trump's protections will now extend to "Others" like Blackwater Guards and other mercenaries. This was a response to an announcement by the world body that they would start formal investigations. Last month, Trump told the government of Iraq that US Troops would continue to occupy Iraq even after Iraq told them to leave, and Trump added that if Iraq insists on the departure of US Troops, he would confiscate 35 Billion Dollars of Iraq's oil revenue which is handled through the US Federal Reserve Bank in New York.
