If you get coronavirus you won't want to smoke pot, your lungs won't be up to it. So stock up on edibles!

  7. This is all hyped up way more than it should be. Viruses change and mutate all the time. Are some people going to die from it, yes but people die from all kinds of things everyday. It's not like this thing is a massive killer that's going to wipe out 50% of the population. Currently the mortality rate is somewhere around 3.4% of those known to be infected and chances are that there are way more people that have it than have been diagnosed which means that the percentage of people who die from it in comparison to the real number of infected is probably much lower than the stated 3.4%. Not to mention that 3.4% is a worldwide statistic that includes countries where there are less than ideal conditions for proper hygiene, nutrition, and medical care, all of which could be factors in whether or not a person lives or dies from an illness. I wish the media wouldn't get everyone so riled up about things that are actually pretty normal, sending everyone into an unnecessary panic. A few years ago everyone was so worried about H1N1 now that's the dominant strain this year, do you really see it killing any more people than the other strains we were already familiar with? Not really. It's all about perspective. The world is grinding to a halt over something rather insignificant. For those with compromised immune systems that could actually die from this, of course they should be aware and take precautions but they should have been doing that anyway to protect themselves from every other virus out there that could harm them.

Sorry for the rant, I wrote a bit more than I planned on.

  8. It's very real.
You won't know about it until everything is in lockdown mode.
Any concerts, large gatherings, international travel are all under lockdown mode which is controlled by your federal and state government.

  11. Still you don't know what has been on those leaves hence why i say gross

I basically agree with all of this. While this is a very real threat to the elderly and infirm so are a lot of things. My life isnt being upended by coronavirus but it is being upended by the hype surrounding coronavirus. If that sounds selfish I'll own it but I'm in legit danger of losing my job over this. I'm sure there is a line somewhere between responsible action and media circus but I dont know where that line is

The problem is they don’t know just how bad it will get. We have already had one mutation of the virus. What if the next affects the normally healthy rather than the more susceptible. Governments just can’t risk it.

I remember my parents telling me about the polio epidemic of the 1950s, how they kept a big cooking pot filled with tap water and they'd boil it before they'd drink it.

Apparently coronavirus spreads more easily than polio but is not as dangerous. If you get coronavirus and it doesn't kill you then you'll be okay. If you get polio and it doesn't kill you then you'll be crippled.

Seems the doctors in Hong Kong are finding a 20-30% loss of lung function in those that survive coronavirus.... For some that could be pretty crippling. (in a different way then polio, but still crippling)

If that is verifiable elsewhere and it is a permanent loss, those people are going to need access to some cleaner air than most major cities have right now...
