Yes, but you say no one is considering that, as if the current measures that are taken aren't worth it because of this possible economic consequence. I say many experts and leaders ARE considering/aware of it. They simply disagree with you that current measures like temporary social abstinence and possibly a lockdown (two subtily different things) are needed and worthy.

 

What's the population of China? Like 1.2 billion? If you can trust their stats, they locked down for two months and successfully flattened their curve without mass starvation. It can be done.

 

Let's divide it in to two models

1. The Singapore / South Korean way of handling it, which is what Scotty from Marketing is copying. It's obvious now Sars-CoV-2 is seasonal

2. Your way, let's call that the Italian model, which most of Europe seems to be copying

It remains to be seen if the curve is flattened nationally. Wuhan is only one area. It could now spread soon to other parts of China and the whole thing starts over again.

Besides China was always going to take over eventually. America has 50 states that can't even get along. The demise is inevitable.

I think when America figures out how to actually win a war in one of those "shit hole" desert countries then we can sit back and have a laugh about them trying to take on China.

Cause after Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. They're only little countries. Can't even win them convincing if at all. Even Germany was a little country. America Vs China... C'mon man.
