Right. Objectively how much milk can a family of 4 drink before it spoils?

Yes I am in New York State, not the city. I was lucky enough to retire almost 2 years ago. The stress level was getting so high that I decided to retire when things were looking good. I am happy that I did not wait like I was planning to.

I have to go to the hospital next week, thinking about cancelling,

this is what they are saying will happen when I go in.

    Active Public Screening

We are doing active public screening for COVID-19 among all visitors and the public. This is what it means for you: you must enter through designated entrances where you will be asked specific questions pertaining to symptoms and be tested upon entering,

    cancel or go? Debating,

yeah, not life threatening and can be postponed, It is funny, I am actually thinking about the doctor more than myself. Also thinking about the potential of him getting sick too. He is older, and apparently more at risk than me, I generally don’t like to cancel appointments for anything, whether that be a dinner, a party or a dr. Appointment. I also have a party to go to on the 4th, for a bday, Not sure it will happen now if the venue is closed because of this.

things just seem so up in the air,

According to public health officials we should be avoiding going out in general but especially any crowds of more than 10 people

Yeah, this bday will have well over 70 people but I just saw that the ontario premier recommended restaurants bars, theatres and museums close up. There are also three cases in Toronto which are of unknown origins. There is more than that, but three unknown cases.

I'm a little concerned about the lack of stock on grocery store shelves. I went to Sprouts (healthy grocery store) and they didn't have jack. They were restocking, but as I mentioned before somehow they were not stocking any tofu. I don't know... Maybe the tofu industry is experiencing a shortage. :unamused:

I still have my health. :)

  11. @soulcompromise try your local fruit and vegie place. They might sell tofu as well as your vegies

we have a ton of those. I live in a very agricultural area, but they're not very "hip" to vegan/veggie lifestyle. At least not that I'm aware of. You might be right!

I picked up some tofu though. They just didn't have it where I initially tried.

Shaw’s? I didn’t realize you lived in New England. I grew up in MA. I miss it.

We just moved to TX after five years in CA. A lot of businesses are closing early, but luckily we’re not dealing with the same shortages I’m seeing in the rest of the country.

I lived all over Boston (Mattapan, Hyde Park, West Roxbury, Southie, and Brighton) but went to High School in Norwood. We also lived in Dedham and Walpole. I went to nine different schools by the time I graduated.

I bought groceries at the big box store today. That place was such a zoo when the outbreak first took hold! But today it was pretty mellowed out, and pretty well stocked. The only thing they didn't have was Bisquick; and even so they had Krusteaz pancake mix, but I needed Bisquick brand. It was an uneventful journey, however I wonder if I won't now come down with coronavirus for not ordering delivery...

when a recipe says to use a specific brand of a certain ingredient, it doesn't actually matter. it's just because the recipe was written by that brand's marketing department.

Thanks. I know that, but it's just really important that it's not Krusteaz... :D

i figured you knew, but i finally had an opportunity to lodge a small complaint against that stupid marketing technique that has been annoying me for my entire life. it seems way too stupid to work, but i guarantee there are people who buy a specific brand just because it's in the recipe.

also, i'm not familiar with the brand, but i would have a hard time buying any food product called crusties too.
