I started working with Habitat for Humanity mainly to meet President Jimmy Carter. After that, i stayed with it for a couple of years because I believed in the cause. Changed jobs and did not have time to continue. (President Carter was an honest, humble man. He inspired by just showing up.)
I really enjoyed my time on local FM! 4-5 years of that followed by 1-2 on world wide internet broadcast. It was a lot of fun. We had a great time. I enjoyed being good at what I did. Wasn't really attention seeking? In fact I wasn’t as successful as I could have been because I lacked the ability to self promote as you must, to reach any type of success. that counts in the real world too!
are you guys in the same area, or does he actually go around to various habitat groups to make appearances and help out?
@WhatJustHappened I’m interested in what he thinks of the current political climate as well as the current situation right now.
President Carter used to go to several Habitat for Humanity sites every year. I haven't seen much about his visits recently. He's 95 years old and his health is questionable. I doubt he does many anymore.
(Prior to this Paramedic) I was invited to be a 'DJ' on internet (independent) Radio, This was/is of interest to me because I like 'the music; I have a varied liking of genres and have always fancied doing a late-nite/early morning slot. Whilst cash and 'a degree of' attention would be nice I wouldn't say I'd go looking for it, but perhaps the generality is different than an individual's opine (?!?)
