got it. that's what i was referring to too, it seems like most opinions are formed on emotion rather than anything that makes actual sense. i probably could have worded it better in the first place.
Just to add one more thing.Nathan Pritikin who championed the low fat diet, got cancer, became depressed and committed suicide - all typical of a low fat diet.
The rise of antidepressant use coincides with the rejection of saturated animal fats. I've always wondered if that was more than just coincidence
I hear that global warming fanatics are advocating eating insects as a convenient protein source to combat climate change. Fine by me; that’s more beef steak for me.
It could be connected, but not because of fat, but people becoming protein deficient, which I have read does contribute to depression. If people give up meat and don't know how to replace it, there are problems.
the hatred of logic in the service of universal consideration supports the gradual elimination of humans.
I'm willing to try it and if its good and somewhat easily available, also to incorporate it into my diet. Cow meat should be consumed in moderation anyway (for the environment). No need to give up on it alltogether imo. As long as consumers pay what it really costs that's not so bad. Of course this would likely imply mainly poor folks will get their protein out of insects.
The only time I’ll ever eat bugs is if it is for wilderness survival, and it’s my only option. One thing we learned about Chinese wet markets is that eating freaky foods can potentially lead to diseases.
That's about living animals being kept too close to eachother and humans. Not saying eating insects isn't freaky to me as well at this point, but not for that reason. It seems not really more risky than eating cow meat, after all it seems most common to deepfry them
Anyone seen what Paul MaCartney looks like right now? Like death warmed up and he's been a vegan for yonks. Compared to him Keith Richards of the Stones looks in the picture of health ... Wonder if he's also a vegan?
i would try insects. who knows, they may be fucking delicious. any foods can potentially lead to diseases. it has nothing to do with freakiness and everything to do with unsafe storage, handling, and preparation.
dietary deficiencies = insufficient dietary diversity. meat is like candy to me. but this idea that a meat heavy diet that is otherwise insufficiently diverse, is somehow a natural right, well, tell me about it when you have butchered your own cow.
But then you have the counter-example of the Brahmins in India, who are at the top of the caste hierarchy, known for their scholarship and intellectual abilities, and have been vegetarian for milleniums. Same too with the Jains who are considered to be the richest and most well-educated community in India. Five time world chess champion Vishwanathan Anand of India, and Ramanujam, the Indian mathematician whom British mathematician G.H.Hardy considered to be comparable to only Euler or Jacobi in terms of mathematical genius, were both vegetarians. Similarly, Leonardo da Vinci, considered to be the prime exemplar of the "Renaissance man" or "Universal Genius" by historians and scholars, was himself a vegetarian. Leonardo stated thus, “I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men.” The philosopher and spiritual teacher George Gurdjieff was of the opinion that love should be practiced on animals first as they were more sensitive.
If you are wealthy perhaps. You are not going to be able to find cows in a decade or two. And if you do there is more hospital beds for others since you will not needs yours long. I hope you are not stuck in your identity you don't admit how bad meat is. I know for you it's more then food it proves manhood but your arteries are not happy. He looks like an old man...... and he's 77. lot of projection here I think.
