Heya! I'm taking a class & am supposed to get some Christians to answer these questions ~ I already have asked my required 2 ppl, but thought this would be a fun place to get some responses! 1. Do you share your faith regularly? Do you go out of you way to share you faith with strangers? 2. If not, why not? 3. What is the biggest reason you don't share your faith more often? Thanks so much!! ~Tiffany
1. I share my faith to a degree. The most important aspects that I feel need to be shared are salvation and information on the end times. 2. I'll answer based on the incidents in which I do not. Faith is not something that can be easily incorperated into basic conversation (i.e. the weather). Those that I find the most difficult to speak with are my own family members. They have certain beliefs handed down by their church in which they have been accostumed to since childhood. They are not receptive to anything that opposes such ideas. 3. The biggest hurdle for me is the fact that I happen to be shy in person.
i'm not a christian, but i'll answer anyways, because variety is the spice of life 1. no, i tend to keep it to myself, but will discuss it if asked or in a conversation about it 2. I don't becauase like epiphany said, it's not a daily conversation topic, it's a touchy subject and I don't want to be arrogant or offensive. Also, my beliefs are not typical of our judeo christian culture so I feel less inclined to air them. I certainly don't try to convert people ever, at most I'll just state my personal beliefs. I hate it when people evangelize me so I try not to do it 3. I'm shy for one thing, especially with subjects like this.
I let people know I am a Christian, but I do not evangelize. people need to make their own decisions. my peers have all learned about Christianity in one form or another and if they choose not to beleive- it's not my problem. I don't feel as if God put me here to convince others to beleive. I"m not good at that and there are plenty of others who are. my biggest reason for not sharing it more often is because my relationship with God is private. and I just don't like trying to get people to jump on the wagon when I can't back up why I beleive with facts and bible quotes. i have faith and that's good enough for me.
Hey all! Thanks so much!! I am actually heading to the class now ~ I wish I had posted this earlier like I planned on, but you know how it goes. I am sure I will have more questions like this to post though so we will see ~ Feel free to post more answers, though, if you would like because I'm sure I can always bring in more later Much thanks ~ Tiffany
Wait, no, nevermind! I just got back, and we ended up not having the class tonight because someone was in the hospital ~ So feel free to send responses for another week!
1. Do you share your faith regularly? Do you go out of you way to share you faith with strangers? really, only if asked. 2. If not, why not? i believe behavior speaks louder than words. 3. What is the biggest reason you don't share your faith more often? frankly people get pissy if you talk about it. you can talk about every other faith, but they want nothing to do with christianity. surprisingly, these people often know a lot less than they think they do. but whatever, that's cool.
1. Yes I do, I prefer friendship evangelism. the big advantage of that is that if the person you talk to does not agree any lil' bit, you'll still be friends afterwards. 2. sometimes it's just not the right thing to do, it would only break down and it should never. So then, just living the lifestyle of the discipel is the thing to do. As every christian should (which is, ofcourse, easier said/believed than done). 3. well, sometimes it just isn't right for the moment as I said at point 2. But sometimes I just need to get out more, see people some more...reading good spiritual books can build you up, but unless you do something with it. I should and continue to find a good balance between getting filled up and spreading it around.
