You know what the upside to that race was? I am sitting 3rd in standings, I am 34 points away from the lead. An 8th place finish gives me what should be 36 points + 1 point for leading a lap. The top in standings ahead of me got disqualified tonight, and pending review, do not score points. That would make me the CHAMPIONSHIP LEADER after 10/26 races. After 26 races we go into a playoff battle for a further 10 races. But how cool would that be!! There has been 61 other guys that have registered and raced with us in our Series League, and I might just be on top of them all fucken get that up inya Europe. I don't know why sponsors aren't lining up outside my door tbh. shitter drivers than me get sponsorship. i can do billboards.
What was everyone's favorite children's novel as a kid? My son is tearing through books and I need to order some more. He's 7 but his reading level is a bit above that He just finished the 7th Harry Potter book Thus far in my shopping cart I've got The Hobbit Any other ideas?
Wifey and I are going horse riding after my work tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it. more like... horse trotting with my wife lol. Horse walking even. I could see it in my girls eyes this morning, she was ready to be taken out. It's warmer.
Seriously if you want to throw something different at your child, how about a bit of old Norse tales? I suggest the Volsung saga. If your boy already likes Harry Potter then surely he'll love Elves, magick swords, dragons, Vikings, Valkyries, Oden and other gods. it's literally what the Lord of the Rings is based on, but written in Germanic/Norse poetry. Seriously, give it a shot. Sigurd Volsung, a true hero. Sigfried in Germanic, you may know it as Der Ring des Nibelungen, which is basically the version Lord of the Ring uses as inspiration, but I find the Norse versions to be more romantic. It is also an inspiration for the story of King Arthur. But there are several Arthurian legends that I have heard of, German, Norse even Polish have very similar stories akin to the Legend of King Arthur. The part where Sigurd pulls the specially forged elven sword from the trunk of a tree in a contest... King Arthur written all over it. These are the stories I grew up with as a child.... and I turned out alright and full of imagination and I literally believe I owe it to what I read and learned as a child and I seem to carry those imaginative and creative qualities with me through life.
You know nobody wakes up one day in their 30s and all a sudden into dragons. Or unicorns. That shit is in grown I think as a child. So I say imaginitive and creative literature. Hell even the Anne Rice vampire chronicles wouldn't be so bad. Maybe a bit over the head though lol. Lots of boring talking and philosophy. The vampires annoyed me. Just shut up and do cool vampire shit. 90% of that chronicles was a waste of time. I still enjoyed it but looking back... Instead of talking they could have been doing some awesome shit. You live forever, you're a vampire.. I really don't see what there is to be so upset about all the time lol.
You could try like Odysseus too, but there's a lot of sex in that one lol, might get him hooked on nymphs for the rest of his life. I like him already.
I recommended Ronja the robbers daughter to her: lots of scandinavian folklore in it. Especially well portrayed in the swedish movie adaption from i think the 1980s lol. Still, excellent start for a kid to get intrigued by this wonderful world
Was 20 c here for days already, only the sea breeze cooled it down. That's gone today so now it's like july here!
I recommend Astrid Lindgren books in general, but especially Ronja. Check this one out too: The Brothers Lionheart - Wikipedia
